Regarding Team stats, this is one that is quite hard to believe but true....!

Most League Two clean sheets (2017):
11: MANSFIELD
9: Portsmouth, Accrington, Cambridge
8: Blackpool, Crewe, Newport, Cheltenham

Yet we have done that in spite of having one of the worst records in conceding goals (69 in total) 44 of those goals were conceded away which shows where the problem lies!

Pretty poor all round. But then I think we knew that already!

Sendings off didn't help. How many of those were away? My impression was that our young defenders were also likely to cave in away.

Interesting looking at my first post, apart from Rowe and Dayton, all our main sources of goals have been retained.

We need to add a 15 + goals striker (a fit Holman?) and someone who can get 10+ assists.

Dayton is a bit of surprise because it felt like we hardly saw him all season yet he was the third highest assister. The fact Rowe and Waters were top with just 5 and 4 shows the problem, we need more quality to set up the likes of Holman, Waters and Wright. Winchester should hopefully add some of that moving back, and settled, into midfield.

Hopefully better ball retention in the middle of the park will also mean the opposition don't attack as much and therefore the number of goals we concede automatically reduces, no matter who we do or don't sign in defence.

Agree with that. Definitely more needed from midfield going forward and backwards.

I remember Dayton's peach of a ball for Wright to nod home vs Carlisle, can't picture his other assists though - maybe a set-piece.

He was also expert on winning free kicks in good positions. His intelligence was not appreciated by the Manager.

One of Dayts other assists would have been for Pell at Carlisle. Breaking forward, he carried the ball quite a way and then slid it through and Pell finished first time.

Two assists in two matches vs Carlisle. Maybe he should go on loan to a different team each week and get 46 assists a season.
