I watched the play off final last year in the Robins Club and quite enjoyed the afternoon, big cheer went up when Grimsby got their third ! Must have been about 30 or so watching.
Anyway does anyone know if the club is doing the same this year ? If yes I might well go on down.

..I went too and although Rovers were much the better side if they do manage to win at Wembley I would expect them to be more ruthless than us with their retained list.Artemis wrote:Tranmere all the way for me. I watched the FGR Daggers second leg at TNL. Spent most of the game talking to Mrs Still and her sister. They were right when they said that the Greenies were a bunch of divers and bad sports.

Forest Green winning would put extra money in our budget.
Tranmere's team talk has been leaked to the press ahead of the Wembley clash:

Simple answer to that. Money! He knows that eventually he will buy his way there. Unless of course he does a Mr Griggs and pulls the plug, thus leaving the club in a mess and unsustainable. I suppose it's unsustainable now in one sense, but as long as Vince keeps putting his money in to the black hole they will buy their way up the pyramid (eventually)
I'm surprised Ecotricity can get away with subsidising the club as it's basically a tax reduction technique. That club is never going to be in a position to pay back those losses which otherwise would have been taxed as company profit.

Tranmere only have themselves to blame at HT. I do wonder if FGR could go for similar signings to us, and with their budget take a few we might have wanted. Only time will tell (If they win that is! hoping for a Tranmere comeback but cant see it)

FGR winning play-off really would round off a terrible season perfectly!!!
I am happy to see Forest Green gain promotion. If nothing else, it's another money spinning 'derby' game for us which has to be a good thing. I don't think Dale Vince, with his new stadium, is intentionally looking at nicking any Of our fans but no doubt, there are plenty of people knocking around the County with nowt to do on a Saturday afternoon that would support a successful team.
I remember people saying that people wouldn't be interested in going to watch MK Dons but they're averaging gates of 10k now. Never underestimate the fickleness of the sporting fraternity.

Burton are not much bigger than FGR and they have survived up there on tiny crowds so clearly it can be done. I would like to think if we ever got there we would average 7000+ if the new stand was in place with a larger capacity.
Full credit to the FGR fans on promotion, can't say I am looking forward to the away trip though but perhaps next season they will give us a larger allocation.

So will there be Financial Fair Play rules be enforced on them? If so I would imagine they are already spending more than whats allowed on the crowds they get. However given the likes of Crawley and Fleetwood have seemed to ignore it in the past I doubt they will have any issues doing the same.
There's some kind of income to wage bill ratio gubbins that has to be adhered to, but I'm sure they'll find a way around that, such as giving away 2000 tickets per match and Vince paying for them.Benctfc wrote:So will there be Financial Fair Play rules be enforced on them?
