And good to see the official site http://www.ctfc.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; updating on a Sunday with this news.

Remember, it is much better for the club if fans check the official website http://www.ctfc.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for news rather than only using the Echo.

We are signing some big physical players,if they can play as well we wont be bullied anymore.Jon Palmer wrote:http://bit.ly/NewCTFCSigning3
Happy with this. I like that we are signing players who have experience but are also reaching the peak age of their careers so can also improve. Looks like we are building a hard working physical side judging by the signings so far and the players we offered contracts too.
Gary leaked this in his interview where he said we had made three signings already;-)
I don't know much about the player himself but he was at Pompey and Orient signed him for a fee. He appears to have the right physical attributes to do well in this league and we definitely need more steel in the centre of midfield. A central trio of Winchester, Pell, Storer or this guy should be good at this level.

Mainly Orient fans on Twitter but having read the article the fact that we've stuck him on a two year deal means that they guy has potential and GJ is good at getting the best out individuals so fingers crossed, every signing every team makes is a gamble.

I remember him scoring a beauty against us for Portsmouth.
Here's a video of the goal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xq7amz8mp3Y" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If he can still perform like that i will be more than happy,he has great vision, plays a lot of early balls and is athletic looks better than Lg.2 ?I-Love-CTFC wrote:I remember him scoring a beauty against us for Portsmouth.

The video is poetry in motion. Be not surprised if this young Frenchman becomes the signing of the summer. Comparisons with Pogba are indeed accurate and the footage appears to have been drawn from a number of performances, so not a one-off. Well done Brothers Johnson. I am purring at the prospect.triggo wrote:Well on this sneek peek he looks a decent player

A two year contract? Very good business.
Most importantly, he wants to improve. He said that GJ is the first/only manager to tell him his weaknesses and knows all about him, and is why he chose us.
From that video he looks a bit like Pack - dropping deeper to collect the ball and picking out good passes forward, trying to run the game.

Conversation I had yesterday with a Pompey season ticket holder I know:

By the way mate we have signed Atangana from Orient, used to play for you, any good?
Ahhhh big Nige!!
Good impact sub against a tired defensive midfield
Comes on with 30 to go and is a unit and runs at a back foot
Four*. Not the best player I've ever seen but he'll be alright for you for sure
He's been signed as a defensive midfielder but sounds more attacking?
He's a big lad. We used him in a 4-2-3-1 as one of the 2
But he breaks forward well
Ok hoping he does well our central midfield quite strong and powerful
I liked him but he didn't fit in with cook's system really
He's league 2 standard for sure Rather than league one but he'll do a job!

We will be able to play 4-2-3-1 with our mid-field now,it`s the most adaptable formation and we know G.J.likes a plan A,B,C. ?asl wrote:Another midfielder, though? Don't know anything about the guy - but I hope he turns out to be more Viera than Pogba (unless we get to sell him a la Pogba, of course...)

Yup, another good player (along with Dawson) who only joined us because of the reputation, track record, and quality of the manager. This is why it was vital Gary's contract was extended.Shade wrote:Most importantly, he wants to improve. The defensive midfield position has quickly become one of the most important positions in modern football. It is no fluke in my book that the last two premier league winners have benefited from having Kante in their team. Protecting the back four, intercepting passes and allowing wing backs to go forward and provide attacking overlaps. They can also run the game as Shade correctly pointed out.
My only thought with 4-2-3-1 at the moment is who plays in the wide areas? We seem to have a lot of players that play centrally (Nige, Dawson, Stoz, Pell, Winch etc). Even if Billy stays, we will need to recruit in that area if we want to use it.

Though of course some fans like Horlick or Del Boy would rather replace Gary with a no-mark and then we'd not be able to attract players like this.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:Yup, another good player (along with Dawson) who only joined us because of the reputation, track record, and quality of the manager.
