Potentially set to sign here on a 2 year deal from Hibernian. Looks to be a target man striker. Fair to say the Hibbs fans are happy to see him go mind lots of negative comments about him from them. As with every new signing they will judged on what they do here though.

Has not been overly prolific yet but looks like a proper player, with good physique and movement. One of those proper professional looking players other teams always have but we never do. One in two for Hibs this season so far.
Be a good signing if true. Gary is slowly building.

Same as non-league players often look for opportunities to go into the league, Scottish league players often keen to move south of the border to further their career. Forster probably had a word.Benctfc wrote:Wonder if Forster had a say in it too. Interesting that we seem to be bringing players in from different leagues rather than all being from football league clubs.

Just got a message off my mate Daryl, big Hibees fan.
His words were that he was a similar mould to Peter Crouch, very awkward for defenders to play against & actually more technical than you would expect. His words were he'll need a quick exciting partner to do the miles (Which we have in Mo) to get the best out of him. He reckons although some fans didn't like him, he'll do well down here - 15 or so goals & same on assists.
Interesting singing I think. Certainly gives us another option... now for a loanee wingback and pleaaaaase a centre half with some guile.

Just a few things I've picked up online since I saw this earlier.

A lot of fans saying never really got a chance so we will see?

Sounds a modest & down to earth bloke but shouldn't believe everything the paper says. However on face value.....

Not concerned about the comments online at all. Target men play a different role and league two is very physical so will suit his style. Especially if he works hard. The real question is what do we do with Holman? Hard to believe we are talking about the same player that provided debate about whether he would stay with us after promotion or head straight in to League one. He is likely to be on a relatively high wage in the squad contextually so do we free up that and take another couple of gambles on some lower league strikers or a right back?

We need four strikers; Wright, Graham, Holman, Eisa fit the bill. It is a squad game and all will play a role.

Looks a good signing. Ross County have done well in recent seasons so his move to Hibs was hard earned. Justr the sort of player we need.We now have four good strikers. Keep them all. Just a couple of full backs and a fit Downes and things are looking up.

Downes won't play again other than the odd cameo.

Always have the option of up to five loans to supplement the squad if we need them. Clubs understandably keen to hold onto them as they work out their squads in the first week or two but towards the end of August, we are likely to see some movement. Liked the look of that Vyner from Bristol City in the friendly we played against them. Problem we have is that he played so well, that he ended up on the bench against Barnsley and played in the 5-0 win over Plymouth.

Top news. Things are coming together.
Let's hope that the international clearance comes through quickly.
We certainly seem to be in a stronger position than we were at 7pm on Monday. I'd like two full-backs, another wide player and, if we've got a little bit left in the budget, another CB. I think we'll get another 3 in at the most, though.

If we sign a right wing-back I'll be happy that we've at least filled all positions that needing filling, although a bit more defensive coverage would be helpful. Achieve that and I think we can be competitive in most games and looking to finish somewhere near mid-table.

So within two weeks of joining he will be facing West Ham. A quality of opposition he would never face in Scotland - this is why L2 clubs can sign SPL players. Forster already tweeted about looking forward to the game.
GJ mentioned that Graham is 'clever' in the air, players who indulge in the dark arts are very much needed at this club, too many times are we on the receiving end of the 'dark arts' its about time we stepped up in this department and in every position. Dayton was very good at this.

Dayton was a master at timing his falls to coincide with the opponent swinging a leg. Hopefully Graham is an expert at jumping with his elbows providing lift. Proof will be whether the FA/Refs will allow a CTFC player to do this or not. History says they won't, whilst allowing dark arts against us.
Will never forget Dayts sneakily rolling the ball to a fan to 'hide' under their seat followed by an almighty 'struggle' to 'find' it and 'wrestle' it free when we were counting the clock down against Grimsby. One of the funniest things I've seen at a game...especially as it was against Grimsby.
