Eisa.

Jon Palmer also reporting Dillon Phillips may be on his way back after Charlton made him available for loan, this I assume ties in with PB's comments on Saturday.

Surely if Dillon were to come back we would need to send Flatt back. No point having two keepers on loan when we have a decent young keeper that performed well on Tuesday as well. Whatever the case if Dillon comes, I feel sorry for Flatty.

Can we send back a player on a 'season-long loan'...? Might be some kind of penalty or it may impact the ability for the player to go on loan elsewhere?

I wouldn't have thought so unless we do indeed pay a penalty, both clubs agree it's for the best or if the player does something that would be deemed unacceptable. But, I would have thought that there would be something in the agreement that if JF isn't first choice then Wolves can recall him at any time to send him out to get first team football.

A long term loan player can only be sent back if both clubs agree, so Wolves would have to agree otherwise we would have to keep him as number two and pay his wage contribution.

For those feeling sorry for Flatty if it happens, how many have seen him play and inspire confidence this season? Great lad, did a job for us in the conference but he is not giving assurance at league level and it's unsettling the defence.

But has Phillips had much experience at league level?

Think he played 1-2 games for Charlton but he's significantly better than Flatt Nesty.

Is he? He has not made much of an impact at Charlton.

JP is also reporting someone is going out on loan, Rhys perhaps.

Holman or Rhys would be my guess but could be O'Shoggers.

It doesn't matter whether he's better or not, I'd stiill feel sorry for Flatt that he came here in good faith thinking that he would be number 1 for the season, only to be dumped after a couple of games through no real fault of his own.

Anyway, getting a little ahead of ourselves here. Nothing has come out of the club to suggest that we're in for Dillon, it's just JP reporting that Charlton are looking to get him out on loan and all of us putting 2 & 2 together and getting a new number 1.

He played 8 League games, conceding 12 goals. He also played 2 FA Cup games, conceding 3 goals, and he played in Charlton's 3 Checkatrade games conceding 3 goals and keeping one clean sheet.

So last season it's 13 games played - 18 goals conceded (1.38 goals per game)- 4 clean sheets.

Jon Flatt played 21 games for Barrow last season and one game for Wolves U23s in the Checkatrade. He conceded 33 goals (1,5 oer game) and kept 5 clean sheets.

Significantly may well be overstepping it a bit - and before you state Phillips was against League One strikers and Flatt Conference level, remember that Phillips has League One defenders in front of him and Flatt had Conference standard.

I do feel a bit sorry for Flatt but we need quality because imo we don't have enough depth in the squad and the GK position is absolutely crucial, you need a good goalkeeper at any level to achieve anything - I don't think he's overrated/over-hyped at all, like other posters have said I too cannot remember him making a mistake, his handling is brilliant and is a commanding presence. I really hope we get him, I really do but if not I wish him well at his next club.

Makes a nice change for us to act this quickly and tie a promising player down. Commitment from both sides but it looks like a good move from the club.

great move by the club, all we need now is some width in the team to supply the ammo

Great news and very welcome that we're being proactive, rather than reacting too late to a situation.
