The team that will not be picked for tomorrow is

Flatt

Dawson Forster Boyle O'Shaughnessy

Pell Winchester Storer Eisah

Graham Wright

A few square pegs but thats the way it is. Holman to come on and get the winner.

Please not 4-4-2 it doesn't suit us. We need to played 5-3-2.

Do I not like the look of that team.

------------------Flatt

Winch, Forster, Boyle, Grimes, Cranston

-----------Atangana, Storer

-------------------Pell

--------------Eisa-----Wright

Should keep the goals conceded under 5, at least...

Only victory this season 4 4 2. It gets Grimes on the bench as a bonus.

If fit (admittedly not likely) I’d have Dawson in for Winch. Rest of the team is perfect.

Yeah, I've just read Dawson said he's fit to start and could do a job at RWB, so Dawson at RWB.

However, that leads me to wonder whether I would sacrifice Atangana or Storer, Pell drop back and have Winchester behind the front two where his passing ability could be crucial feeding Eisa. Or drop Pell, but I can't see GJ doing that.

Dawson Pell Atangana Cranston
----------Winchester-------------
------Wright-------Eisa-----------

Atangana DM, sit in and break up the play, pick a pass to start an attack. Pell to bomb up and down for the full 90 as we know he can. Winchester in his best position to provide some composure and good service to the two strikers and the wing-backs when they get forward.

that's the best team we can field IMO

I would go with CFTC09's team.

As Sellars isn't fit, that probably is as good as we can put out.

Only possible improvement is Graham for Wright.

I would have Stoz and Atangana together, with Pell in front of them. I'd drop Winch and have him as someone to come off the bench to potentially cause some issues with the Hammers' tired defence.

Atangana showed against Crawley that he can do the job of getting up and down the field, and I think the team is better with Stoz in it as a leader.

That would be sickening to see. Winiesta must play otherwise it is a recipe for 100% hoof ball. With Dawson and Cranston bombing on and Eisa playing on the shoulder a ball playing creative midfielder is essential. By all means Pell/Atangana can get up beyond the strikers but some guile is needed to pick the pass.

Pelly and Nige are our best two defensive midfielders with the advantage of being able to drive forward and get in the box. And Wini is our best (and only) creative midfielder. Stop messing about and get the best players in their best positions (apart from where square pegs are sadly needed). If that puts Stoz on the bench then tough.

Plus, discipline and pace to avoid late tackles is needes. Storer was close to a red vs Crawley and I think he'd get two yellows before HT vs The Hammers.

Read a great piece by H. Winter in The Times over lunch where he condemned the EFL and Carabao.

Oddly, HW noted, it works out as 11.30am in China so hardly primetime there. Could easily have done 8pm in China and lunch time here.

Won't be long until the Cup is killed off or downgraded imo. The farce with the draws etc cannot mean this cup warrants a Europa League place. Maybe once we end up with two non-Prem (or Prem-fringe) teams in the final they will take the Europa place away and that will be that.

Cranston to score a free-kick and Flatt to save a penalty in a 1-0 win. Ben2 gloating rights over the haters secured for another three days.

Truth is 99 of 100 we get beaten easily but I'm not too old or cynical to believe we can do it. Neither will I suffer twice by expecting the worst - I think we're gonna do them!

Trevor brooking, Pauli di canio, Geoff hurst - your boys are gonna get a hell of a beating
We'll nick it against the run of play. Biggest robbery involving West Ham since Bobby Moore went jewellery shopping in Mexico.
