If a player can be judged on twenty minutes a few games would do for the new Manager. :)

Though obviously a player can be taken off after 20 mins on a bad day, and start the next match and do well. Once a manager is sacked, they cannot start the next game in charge. So different.

Hypethetical I know but if GJ does go or when he goes I hope the next manager we go for is a younger one with fresh ideas. Yes it's risky but the last few experienced FL manager appointments haven't been very successful. McCann at Perterbrough a prime example of a young manager with no experience doing well it can be done.

Going for inexperienced manager fails more often than not, I can't remember the exact stat but I think it's something like 70-80% of first time managers never get a second job in the league. Of course there are exceptions but with a team floating near the bottom of the league it's just too a big gamble to take.

Indeed. Even with the biggest shoe horn in the world Horlick's remark barely makes sense.

Just a comment on the quirks of the English language.

Indeed, though the English language would use 'latest manager's interviews" to mean what you are trying to mean.
