Best signing so far in my view. Works hard on the wing, gets stuck in, and good movement and instinct for all of his goals so far.
Thank God he wasn't forced to play RB like some on here wanted.

Yeah, I went with someone not from the UK (only their second Robins game) who is a big footy fan and as soon as it left Cranston's boot they were saying "great cross" and the easy finish was a formality seconds later.Nesty wrote:awesome cross by Cranston for the header

Dawson and Morrell switched flanks and drifted inside. First half Morrell was almost entirely LM, running up and down the line 10m in front of me.asl wrote:Central midfield*RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:Right wing*Robin wrote:Doing well in his new role as a striker last few games, very versatile.
Morrell was mostly RM, I thought?

Could have fooled me yesterday. Ostensibly a 4-4-2 with Dawson and Morrell quite fluid in getting on either flank and up front.
That is the beauty of square pegs. A proper back four, two proper midfield two and a proper striker, then the second striker and wide attackers have more of a free role when going forward.
4-4-2 or 4-3-3 - difference doesn't really matter when your four best attacking players are in forward and wide positions as you need to be flexible and fluid to find space and create chances.

It was 4 4 2 yesterday as Regency sums up well.
Morrell and Dawson seemed to have freedom to roam with the others in a 4 2 2 shape.
Morrell is an outstanding player for this level and Dawson's class and experience shows.
My natural instinct would have Atangana in for Storer, but I wonder if that might change the dynamic of the formation.

Agree and I think Atangana would be better. Can do everything Storer does, but faster, and can pass better. If the two solid midfielders can pass better it helps the roaming Morrell and Dawson even more.Artemis wrote:Morrell and Dawson seemed to have freedom to roam with the others in a 4 2 2 shape.

The Echo often gets confused. It was a 4 4 2 with the wide players coming inside occasionally. I often employed the same system in Subbuteo. It often worked . Shame about the floodlights.
back when I was 13, I would have loved to play anyone that set up his Subbuteo side as 4-4-2
