In four of the last five seasons 71 points has been sufficient for play offs qualification.
We have 11 points, so 60 more needed.
20 wins required in the last 36 games.
We have 18 home games and 18 away.
I will start the count down:
20 to go.
20 wins needed

17 wins needed from 31 games. Currently, as we need to win more than half our games there is no breathing space. Need to put another run together.

16 wins needed from 25 games.
We do need to step it up. Current points per game will only take us to 59 points.

15 wins required. 24 games to get them from.
Doable if Gary is backed to add quality to the squad in January.

Get the 15 wins and see where we end up. Remembering I don’t account for draws, and only started counting after first seven games which I have viewed as a write off, then yes we might not need 15 wins, but that is the count down.Ben2 wrote:I think we’ll win the next two - which will give the board something to think about for the January window.
We won’t need 75 points for the playoffs though will we?

A mugs game to start lowering ones targets. Play for a draw, and you lose, as they say.Ben2 wrote:I’d say 13 wins from 23 and if we don’t make play offs we’d be unlucky
Your prediction may prove correct, however the countdown is fixed: 15 wins required for a shot at promotion.
12 home games to come, and 11 away. Got to make WR a fortress.

Benchmark then. Or minimum target.Ben2 wrote:So the target is 15 wins then. Good. Agreed.
Which are the 8 games we targeting to lose? If you can give me notice I’ll give them a swerve.
The idea of ‘targets’ in football is completely nonsensical. ‘Benchmarks’ or points tallies that normally lead to success/failure I understand.

We have 30 points at the half way stage, the first 7 games of which were played before we had the squad in place.
To only get 32 points in the second half after new signings etc would be hugely disappointing; I certainly wouldn't be happy with 62 Robin!

7 down, 13 to go.
But only 13 games left, so I suspect this thread will be closed in a week's time.
