predictions ? I would take anywhere between 7 and 10 points as achievable

Port Vale (A)......Relegation side. We should win, but away from home so draw acceptable. Prediction: 3 points.
Grimsby (H).......Home vs team below us in the table. Win the only acceptable result: 3 points.
Lincoln (H).........Home game vs team in and around us. Draw acceptable but we should be winning at home: 3 points.
Wycombe (A)......No shame in losing this one, but would be disappointing not to escape with a draw: 1 point
Luton (H)...........We should not be losing or drawing any games at home in the League. But Luton are tough, so a draw is ok: 1 point.

Total prediction: 11 points.

What RCS said. We're playing Our Bitches on a Tuesday night I think, aren't we? Can't imagine they'll bring many on a Tuesday night.

After a shocking and pathetic start to the five games we win the third.

Two wins, in the two tough last games would make the points return reasonable. Four points from next two the minimum acceptable level.

Realistically, drawing the next two games would be an acceptable return, with which most fans would be happy. We can't undo the disappointing first two games.

I am looking at the five games as a whole. Yes in isolation draws in the next two games are respectable enough, however in the bigger promotion picture we need to win at least one of them to keep on target.

We have the draw. So four points from the first four games. A win vs Luton needed to get the seven points needed to avoid losing too much ground on our promotion rivals.

While a draw against Luton would be acceptable, a win is more than possible especially following their 0-3 home defeat yesterday and our morale-boosting comeback at Wycombe.

Win essential. A draw would leave points from five games, which is relegation form.

Think Luton's guy Rea will be missing v Robs with three game suspension possibly?

Still lot can happen in two weeks! Cup success for both teams (or not?!!!), injuries, suspensions. GJ has interesting team selection if all fit. Brian and Wrighty up front together? Room for Pell? Storer? Sellars? Winny back to full back?

5 points from these 5 games. Not good enough but luckily w have not lost too much ground on the top seven.

Partly due to the exceptional 13 points from the previous 5 games.

So 18 points in the last ten games. Over the course of 46 games that form would secure 83 points. As we are playing effectively a 39 game season, this form would give us 70 points. (Plus any points we picked up during the first seven games before the squad was complete/fit/settled added on top as a bonus). Touch and go for top seven.

If we get a good return of 10 or more from the next five games we will be starting 2018 in a good position.

Notts County and Cambridge are tough games, and then FGR. I'm not expecting anything at Notts County, even if they did only draw at Stevenage at the weekend- we're generally terrible, result-wise, away from home and they're top of the tree, but if we are going to mount a challenge on the play-offs we need to start getting points away from home and challenging the top sides at their grounds (other than the possible annual 3-3 at Wycombe).

Cambridge are 12th but have a good squad, so that one is up in the air but would hope for victory at home. And FGR away...nothing but a win will do! 6 points from 9 minimum, hopefully, followed by even more sour grapes from Mark Cooper than Nathan Jones had.

7 or 9 points would be a bonus, but let's hope for all 9, eh.

We should go into any home game vs a team not in the top positions expecting to win.

Well, this set of 5 games looking even more disastrous than the previous set.

One defeat and two poor draws in games where lack of striking options and ambition cost us what should have been straightforward wins.

Crewe at home must be one (anything else is a disgrace) and we'll be lucky to get anything at the Ricoh.

Even the most optimistic fans like myself will be feeling play-offs are a pipe dream after today's poor result.

Verdict: Season over.

All we got to look forward to now! Midtable really is dull. At least last season we had the excitement and challenge of a January squad rebuild and march to safety.

What is interesting is the way the league is condensed. Apart from Notts Co and Luton the league is wide open! The season is far from over especially when we factor in the January effect of Gary's work. Upwards and onwards you Robins!

Thanks for that positivity. True that another good run and some new faces and we can close in on top 7. Just Eight games now suggests the blip is turning into something systemic.
