County win 4-2 in the end.
Let’s hope we avoid both L2 rivals in the next round.

Colchester losing at home to National South team Oxford City. Nearly as pathetic as our effort.
Maidstone are 5th in National League; Oxford City are 21st (i.e. second from bottom) of National League South. Oxford City are therefore 40 places below Maidstone. Without making any excuses for today's debacle, I would say that Colchester's result was significantly more pathetic than ours. Also worth bearing in mind that Maidstone are only 14 places below us in the pyramid.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:Colchester losing at home to National South team Oxford City. You could equally say Colchester failed to even score against a team 61 places below them.
And I did make it clear that I wasn't seeking to excuse our inept first half display. In fairness to Maidstone, although we did our best to make them look good, they played far better than most on here expected and we clearly underestimated them.
