No wonder we had the trialist.
D'OS to play and then experienced re-enforcements needed in January for RB and LB.

Hopefully he will get past this injury and be training by summer.

As one who believes he's a decent player this is serious bad news for him, his family and the club. I trust surgery will go well and that he recovers quickly and regains his form. so sorry to hear this news.
I don't see that any that I can remember would be down to training issues.longmover wrote:He pulled up about 30 seconds after treatment the first time round. We've seen an alarming amount of injuries to players under the Gj regime, just unfortunate bad luck or is there another factor?
- Forster did his when he landed
- Gordon did his by hyper-extending
- Cranston did his...well, I'm not sure because I initially thought he'd collided with the guy crossing the ball or the hoardings
- AMS was put for ages because oppo goalkeeper fell on him
- Downes was out because his knees have had it
- Storer had missed quite a few games because of ongoing back trouble
- Atangana just has ongoing fitness problems that he had before he joined us
Who have I missed?

Maybe too much summer gym. You can overdevelop muscles. Hamstring tears seem to be a modern injury.Never happened when rationing was in or later when footballers trained on beer and puddings.

I definitely think modern training and modern physiques mean players are always right on the edge. Like a finely tuned F1 car, just one slight over tightened nut or 1 degree too much temperature and the engine conks out. So whilst not injured during training, players are worked and trained so much that they are more susceptible to injury.horlickfanclub wrote:Maybe too much summer gym. You can overdevelop muscles. Then you get Arsenal with their too hard training pitch causing injury.

It would be interesting if a club open to " new" ideas cut back on training and weights and gym. Savings on fitness coaches, and some of those sessions could be spent on football, ground or cheaper tickets. We have more off field staff than we have strikers ,wingers or full backs and the football is much the same as ten or twenty years ago. Sport has invented a whole industry of hangers on.
Regency and I seem to agree on some of these things so the world is changing in a big way . This should signal a new Dawn. Turn all the gyms in to housing and employ all fitness coaches in new rickshaw businesses to save on emissions . Donate all performance analyst computers to charity and get them in productive jobs and if the players want to stay fit send them fruit and veg picking .

Graham Potter the english coach of Swedish club Ostersunds is doing revolutionary things and breaking the mould to great effect and success.I don`t think it will happen here.horlickfanclub wrote:It would be interesting if a club open to " new" ideas cut back on training and weights and gym. Devastation of the squad this week. Going to need a good January to keep the promotion run on track, IF our makeshift squad can keep getting points until then.longmover wrote:Graham out injured now
Got to get Holman back.
