Reported as having lost £2.1 million for year ending April 2017 which means in two years they have lost £4.5 million.

Frankly extraordinary.

So about £400k off the Ecotricity tax bill for 2016/17.

Don’t be drawn in! Some people would say it was cheating but not me!!!!
Dale Vince and FGR are partaking in financial doping in some people's opinions. FGR get to run debts to compete far above their level and Ecotricity allegedly reduce tax liabilities.

It will be very interesting to see their next set of accounts given FFP doesn't apply to NL, I believe.

Correct. They will find a way round it. Maybe £3m of energy generating assists will be transferred from Ecotricity to the football club and hey presto income exceeding expenditure and FFP ensured.

This from 2016 (so a previous year of FGR losses) says it all:

“According to recently filed accounts for Ecotricity Group Ltd, turnover rose to £126.5m in the year ending 30 April 2016, up from £109.4m in 2014/15.

However, pre-tax profit dipped to £3.19m from £4.47m the previous year.

The company said "increased losses in certain aspects" of the group's activities and a write off of £1.5m on aborted projects had "prevented a better profit before tax outcome".

I think we all know what ‘certain aspects’ they were referring to.

Probably in the Ecotricity accounts, the losses at FGR are classed as Marketing Costs and so become hidden within the overall numbers.

I'm guessing the FPP rules only include income directly related to the footballing revenues, otherwise with the whole income from the company they'd be fine!

Perhaps Dale will just go into the club shop and buy 100000 replica shirts with 'Phillips' written on the back?
