Sad to see what's happening for SC at Blues

Having a coke bottle and season ticket thrown at him against Barnsley. Big defeat at home. Think he needs to take a break from football till CTFC job opens up again one day. Was on Small Heath Alliance site tonight. They pretty much hate him esp with Wolves and Villa doing so well

Its a sad day when Sir Steve needs a police escort to get down the tunnel.
I wonder if he might get his P45 today?

Handy for the owners that they have a scapegoat is place to deflect from their failures.Ralph wrote:Having a coke bottle and season ticket thrown at him against Barnsley............They pretty much hate him esp with Wolves and Villa doing so well
Strange one really as football on 5 showed a stat recently that he was the only managed appointed during the season that had improved the team vs his predecessor, they seemed to suggest SC was doing a good job at St Andrews. Agree though if he gets sacked at Blues he won't get another Championship job will need to settle for league one or ambitious league two.
Correct....only proven at tier 4 level.Si Robin wrote:SC hasn’t got it at Championship level. Yes he can motivate players and get an extra 10% out of them, but every job he’s had at the second tier he’s been found wanting because you need more than heart and fight there.

Bet he regrets not staying with us after our promotion from Div 3 to Div 2.Malabus wrote:Correct....only proven at tier 4 level.Si Robin wrote:SC hasn’t got it at Championship level. We need a man with some financial clout, get cotters back home and we'd be challenging top two of league 1 within a few seasons.
I still believe he could do it at championship level.but hes made many wrong choices, forest pompey and brum all have(or had) ( dodgy owners/financial issues.

Yeah. Taking over at Brum after recent events there probably the second worst job in the Championship after Sunderland. Both clubs deserve to be L1 next season given how they have been managed by owners.CS85 wrote:We need a man with some financial clout, get cotters back home and we'd be challenging top two of league 1 within a few seasons.

His biggest mistake was leaving Stoke after a few months to join Howard Wilkinson as assistant manager at Sunderland, a club that were certainties for relegation in 02/03.CS85 wrote:We need a man with some financial clout, get cotters back home and we'd be challenging top two of league 1 within a few seasons.

He did ok at Burnley, but every other job he’s been fire-fighting at that level.
He should have stayed with Stoke and built them up like he did us.

I think he deserves some credit for stabilising and building Burnley, laying groundwork for someone with the ability to make the final push to the Premier League.Si Robin wrote:His biggest mistake was leaving Stoke after a few months to join Howard Wilkinson as assistant manager at Sunderland, a club that were certainties for relegation in 02/03.CS85 wrote:We need a man with some financial clout, get cotters back home and we'd be challenging top two of league 1 within a few seasons.

Forest had a very good owner when SC first went there.CS85 wrote:We need a man with some financial clout, get cotters back home and we'd be challenging top two of league 1 within a few seasons.

I would say getting Bristol City promoted from league one to championship with three games of season left to play proved him to be successful in that league..Malabus wrote:Correct....only proven at tier 4 level.Si Robin wrote:SC hasn’t got it at Championship level. He certainly deserves credit for it, I suspect that had he stayed he’d have done the same for StokeRegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:I think he deserves some credit for stabilising and building Burnley, laying groundwork for someone with the ability to make the final push to the Premier League.Si Robin wrote:His biggest mistake was leaving Stoke after a few months to join Howard Wilkinson as assistant manager at Sunderland, a club that were certainties for relegation in 02/03.CS85 wrote:We need a man with some financial clout, get cotters back home and we'd be challenging top two of league 1 within a few seasons.

Not much of an achievement with the money Lansdown was throwing at it.THECHOIRBOY wrote:lI would say getting Bristol City promoted from league one to championship with three games of season left to play proved him to be successful in that league..Malabus wrote:Correct....only proven at tier 4 level.Si Robin wrote:SC hasn’t got it at Championship level.
