One of the most amazing games in Cheltenham Town history: http://bit.ly/8YearsOn" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Yates had been in charge about 3 months, hadn't he? I always remember him saying that when we got to 5-5 he was shouting at the players to keep their heads, make sure we don't concede again and make sure we get the point, but Howarth told him to forget it and just watch, the game was so crazy that whatever happens will happen.
I still vividly remember saying to my mate at 4-2 down, just as Pook stepped up to take the free-kick - "If this goes in we'll get something out of this game". It went in and they went straight up the other end to make it 5-3. I said to him again, "we're still going to get something here".
I still couldn't believe that half-volley from Pook in stoppage time - their keeper ended up with dog's abuse because of his celebrations to us when they went 5-3 up.
What a bloody day.

I doubt the club will ever experience a day like that again. Truly unbelievable ... and how ironic that it could be achieved with such a poor squad!
Most fans never experience a game like that in a lifetime; yet, for someone I know, it was the first game he had ever attended. How jammy is that?!
