Two years ago today we beat Halifax to win the National League, and what a great period all that was.

But let's face it, in four of the past five seasons we have had very little to get really excited about have we ?

Current rumours of unrest, and and a lot of very pi**ed off fans on Saturday, and rightly so.

Can't help but feel we have missed a trick after a fantastic effort to get back in to the league, crowds seem to be dropping, promotion should have been a springboard.

The fact we look on course for our highest league finish in the last five seasons shows how poor things have been.

The two seasons before relegation each saw just five home wins. So our eight last season and this is an improvement on that albeit still dire.

We haven't progressed under Johnson and we should be at least tempted to look for another manager, if he stays then we need to get rid of the deadwood, keep the nucleus of this squad and fill the gaps with decent players to give ourselves the best possible chance of a play off finish.
