Cheers JP. Good read. Hoping actions and events live up to the words.

JP: You have backed caretaker manager Russell Milton to make signings before any new manager is appointed, what's the thinking behind that?
AW: "We would not have enough time to bring in a manager in before the deadline and give them a realistic chance of looking at things properly."

Begs the question why Gary wasn't given longer.

Surely if a replacement wasn't lined up instantly to help bring in new players then surely Gary has more experience than Russel Milton does.

Did he not say they were getting help from some extra eyes?

He seems to have faith in Milton, did he actually see the dross the last time he was put in temp charge?

...
it will be interesting to see which prospective managers might be sat in the stands tomorrow.
It would inconceivable for the new man not to be there.

So who do we know are in the running potentially Carsley (who we know has been watching games), Nicholson, Bowyer and Slade. I'd imagine Gill would be managing Bath.

Nicholson is me putting two and two together and making five. It's pure supposition (albeit one I'd be happy with)

Big clue given by Sam Jones in his post match interview. ‘Someone not currently here but has helped with recruitment’ ‘it’s someone I know from my past’

Slade signed him for Grimsby

Slade didn't sign him for Grimsby, Paul Hurst did. He signed for Grimsby on Jan 31st 2017, Slade was manager of Coventry at the time. Hurst then signed him again last year after Slade "bombed him out" of the club according to one Grimsby fan's comments I've seen on the signing.

Strange that Sky Bet have stopped taking bets on the next manager.

But it does still mean than Slade is someone Jones knows from his past.
