Yup in my opinion Long offers more in a wing-back role.Robin wrote:Long over Alcock? Also need to name the subs RCS.

I think he was listing left to right?Artemis wrote:I like the look of that team, Tonga.
Broom and Maddox though for me. And swap sides with the full backs.
Sorry was left to right! Hussey, KLK on left etc.
I have been impressed with Addai but he could be a great option off the bench with his pace and Broom has looked good after a shaky start against Tranmere.
Addai and KLK to get in behind a defence and then roll balls across to Barnett to tuck home. Maddox and Broom for a more patient build up threading balls through or whipping crosses in. Thomas to get them going from deep and Atangana to break up play and feed Thomas, Jones and wingers to get on the attack. Although I'm not massively keen on Atangana he would have preference over Tozer as I have never been impressed by Tozer going back to his Northampton days and his first few games for us has reaffirmed that belief.
I've not seen much from Dawson in the year or so we have had him, don't feel he has the ability to beat a man or has great quality with crosses and also find him quite selfish and petulant on the pitch. Appreciate he has played higher but I don't think he is L2 quality myself.
Barnett selected solely on reputation, in truth I would be happy with him, Duku, Mooney, McAlinden if they are up for it and can find the back of the net.
Defensively, I have been impressed with Forster although it is clear he is out of position. Boyle has been a mainstay of the defence for year and a half now in which we haven't been great defensively so maybe worth a spell out of the team and a good player to bring on if protecting a lead as would definitely put his body on the line if needed.
Fingers crossed for an improved performance tomorrow, look forward to seeing some of you up there. COYR

I'd go for this, only with Broom in for Maddox as he's shown he can actually beat a man.Artemis wrote:Flinders

Beating a man off from a standing start, or pulling off your man from behind the shoulder are valuable skills.Shade wrote:I'd go for this, only with Broom in for Maddox as he's shown he can actually beat a man.Artemis wrote:Flinders

Indeed they are, but the hypothetical question posed was assuming everyone is fit.itsallbollox wrote:According to sky news Hussey and Long still out injured.

Good to see Lloyd given the nod at least: be a shame to see paperweight loans like Maddox keeping him out the side.

Yep he did grow into the game. Field as well was very strong in the last twenty minutes, starting to look like Garbutt.Robin wrote:Maddox been the best player on the pitch once again today.
From what I've seen Field looks more than good enough for the starting XI, Maddox over KLK every time undecided on Broom/Addaithetonga wrote:Flinders

Addai not really had much of a chance. I rate Broom though, best player in the second half against Colchester last weekNewRobin wrote:From what I've seen Field looks more than good enough for the starting XI, Maddox over KLK every time undecided on Broom/Addaithetonga wrote:Flinders

Because of the late and desperate recruitment most of the players are not match fit and no settled team can be formulated until the coaching staff can find a system to play when the best players emerge.Robin wrote:Assuming all 28 players are available what would be the formation, the starting 11 and the bench?
