So JP certain Duff is going to be apportioned whilst the club haven’t even stated they are looking to appoint anyone.

1-1 van Veen penalty. Poor backpass from Boyle and Flinders brings down Hoskins to concede the penalty.

Shocking by Boyle but watching on iFollow, poor play by Maddox/Broom/Atangana gave the ball away and exposed Boyle in a way he had no need to be. Whole team needs to be better.

Yeeeees!
Since Thomas has come on we have been more dynamic. He has been solid in there with Nige and it has been noticeable that Maddox and Broom have then been able to get forward more in good positions to beat men and overlap. Mooney and Barnett benefitting from that too.

Impressive performance from Maddox today, he's someone who can make things happen.

Yes he proved me wrong. Great run for the penno and then was toying with Cobblers after that.Shade wrote:Fair play, yet to see it myself but sounds like Maddox has been a big part of this win with an assist and winning the pen.
Thing is if we're only 5 points off 7th after such a bad start of 7 games, then there's a lot of hope that we can climb much higher when the mess is sorted out. FGR, for eg, are unbeaten in 7 games and they're only 4 points ahead of us, and they've been fantastic if you listen to anybody that cares about them. Drew at home with Port Vale who are on the same points as us.

Exactly. Table still meaningless to an extent after 7 games. It will settle down in a few games and then we can take stock of where we are.Shade wrote:Thing is if we're only 5 points off 7th after such a bad start of 7 games, then there's a lot of hope that we can climb much higher when the mess is sorted out. Watched on iFollow, and thought we looked like a team of strangers in the first half, but defended well with Northampton creating nothing.
Second half, we were much, much better and Northampton never got going. Terrible mistake from Boyle, but it was the only defensive mistake all day, so it shows that defensively we have improved on last season. Agree with RCS that when Thomas came on, it freed Maddox and Broom and we suddenly looked very dangerous.
Also, massive shout out to Tyrone Barnett who was fantastic in the air today, and was clearly breathing out of his ass for the last 15 mins or so that he was on the pitch.
Good signs, but we're far from the finished article and Duffo will have a lot to work on to make this team into a solid unit.

There is a decent team there, it's just finding out our strongest team and a formation that suits them.
News from my Cobblers mate:
"I don't think Cheltenham really did anything to get that win
Cobblers wrongdoing
All three goals were really bad defensive errors
That Maddox kid they have on loan from Chelsea though, he was quality
Atangana very solid
Centre backs had a good game actually
Forster at right back looked good too"

Didn’t know Burnley could prevent him watching any football match he might want to attend.Robin wrote:I was told earlier he would not be at the game as there are some complications on the Burnley end in relation to compensation.
