Having seen both at FGR I would take Winchester any day of the week.
Wait until his heart isn't as in it. Clements put in a performance on Boxing Day that was calm, composed, feisty where necessary and scored a fantastic goal. He seems to be imrpoving every game now after a very average first couple of months.

I remember when Winchester joined us we heard from Oldham fans that there was a real player in there but he didn't suow himself enough. He's probably more consistent now but I don't think you'll ever get 100% from him.

Boyle a big miss today - Mullins or hussey to fill in there you reckon?

Damn, what's wrong with him? He missed FGR at home last season. Guess it depends on whether Field is fit. That is a big loss, especially if it means Hussey isn't getting crosses in.

With about 15-20 to go vs MK Dons Boyle went off temporarily injured. When he came back on he was not moving well at all although started to look better by the end. With hindsight maybe he should have come off rather than playing on, but then maybe we would not have won the game. It is what it is but that’s football and it’s a squad game. If we don’t think Mullins is good enough to play then he shouldn’t be at the club. Personally I think Mullins is solid and a good defender and have every confidence he will be just as good as Boyle and maybe offer something different altogether.

Rcs I agree about Mullins. Best defender we’ve got!

By the way I predict 5-1 to us and a crowd of 5252

Winchester isn't a player you can build a team around but MC seems very much to be constructing one around Brown.

I see both Winchester and Clements are starting.

Why is half of block1 of the Hazelwood stand netted off? Why couldn't that have been sold to the visitors?

What, like the entire corner and great big telly doesn't segregate them enough? No such at at the other end between them an the Canteen area.

Saw some pictures and footage of the game last season and block 1 was empty then too so not the first time.

An update on the Ecotricity ticket debacle:

“Looks to be quite a few of us are not on the list that fgr sent Cheltenham...
We are having to buy additional tickets after showing ticket email receipt proof (and disappointingly the seats are in a rubbish position, probably held back incase of over allocation).”

Well I can categorically confirm that you're wrong there - and I really don't find any need to phone or email the local Noise Abatement Society to check whether they've had any complaints about the match.

Lots of empty seats in the away end today, do we assume a numebr of FGR fans simply failed to turn up or that Vince bought lots of tickets for employeers?

I thought that at first - but there was a massive crowd and more people than seats at the Canteen end of the Hazelwood. That may have accounted for a lot of the 20 or more empty seats further along.

And only 878 ticks sold in a stand which supposedly has over 1,000 seats...bound to be some empty seats!

I am excluding the block nearest the home fans which was netted over there were a lot of empty seats in that away end, probably close to 100. I genuinely don't think all away tickets were used at the turnstiles today.

Lol another comedy post from one of the plastics on their forum:

“My views after first visit to Cheltenham:

I arrived totally lost but after being given directions and spending time with a friend in the town centre, I headed for the ground.

I planned to meet others in the Sudeley Arms but after arriving there I was advised by the police outside not to go inside if I valued my life because away fans were not welcome.

So I headed to the ground minus a drink.

Match started OK, we had control, our fans were singing and all of a sudden we were 2-0 up. I was a bit stunned actually because I anticipated our win being a bit harder than this.

Twenty minutes later I was even more stunned when I realised I’d been experiencing a false sense of security.”

No it's not. It's a female that seems to have made FGR her team in the last 2 years. She's very clappy clappy in her posts, tells fans to make more noise and refuses to see anything wrong in them. Typical DV supporter. She doesn't live anywhere near Glos either.

RCS left out one bit of her post where she mentions the " jungles of Cheltenham"..

I was disappointed because I was expecting three points. I was nearly floored on the way out due to lack of lighting but I was escorted through the miles and miles of deep, dark jungles of Cheltenham to the train station. (thank you, I caught my train)

I really feel for the likes of Giraffe, Chris and the other genuine FGR fans their club has been taken over by the worst of modern football. There is just so much wrong about that post of hers.

By jungles I assume they mean tree lined boulevards of Montpellier and Landsdown. Can see how such splendour is uncomfortable for non shire folk.

She's deranged
Actually the whole of Cheltenham felt like a jungle. It was just a case of avoiding all the predators.
