Surprised it's a centre half when we clearly need a defensive midfielder.

Maybe Boyle and Mullins are out for longer than first thought.

I think Boyle is close to coming back Duke, may even make squad this week.

Not sure the first two 'short term loan signees' are going to be that productive on Saturday's showing; we'll wait and see for his third!

...he could replace Alcock who has been unable to agree terms and is still on a short term rolling contract.

As paperboy says, a replacement for Alcock and a chance to push Tozer in to midfield when Boyle is back.

............I'd push Tozer rather further afield......!

Got to be to replace Forster surely?? Weakest player in the team by a country mile

I agree with this. Forster should be back up IMO, not really quite good enough to play wide right of a centre 3.
I also think Tozer could be moved into centre mid to replace Nige as we desperately need a bit more physical presence in there, at least until we sign a Nige replacement (if we do/can??). Tozer would be less of liability trying to pass the ball out from there too so it could work well once Mullins and Boyle return. If we can make one more signing in centre-mid i think we will be well stocked to ensure our revival continues and we stay up with relative comfort this year. Then let Duff rebuild again in the Summer.
Also, personally I don't see Waters or Pring as better than what we currently have in their positions so reckon they will have to earn the right to start from the bench.
Team i'd like to see for the rest of the season:

Flinders

Raglan Mullins Boyle
Broom Hussey
Tozer (or new mid) Clements

Maddox
Addai Barnett

Subs:

Lovett
Forster
Pring
Thomas
Dawson
Waters
Varney

Spare man: Alcock (til end of season)

Lloyd & Bower to be sent back on loan

I'm hopeful that this the best of 3 signings so far and a potential regular starter (unlike the other two).

Is this lad out of contract in the summer and potentially here with a view to a permanent signing?

Looks like he's out of contract so this could be with a view to a permanent deal if he impresses:

High praise from Oxford supporters. Some say he has fallen out with Karl Robinson.
