Just watched his interview after the port vale game as well and it is clear that a pattern emerges. Could you imagine having to put up with him as your manager?
No more " little old Cheltenham " We are now a money club Where is Michael hiding those 40 players ?
I don`t think Crawley will put up with him if that is his usual reaction to defeat.Hubert Parry wrote:Just watched his interview after the port vale game as well and it is clear that a pattern emerges. Could you imagine having to put up with him as your manager?
I liked his "you know what to expect coming up here", "they have set themselves up to play a certain way". Does that mean, he knew we would be playing it out from the back, not hoofing the ball and using the wing backs?
If he knew all that, he didn't stop it too well

have they got a fan forum? Be interesting to see whether they back their manager or think he's a clown. Then again, they more than put up with Evans so I expect they're right behind him.
I know Trevor Kettle is a joke but other than 1 bad decision late in the second half I couldn't tell what on earth their manager and assistant were getting so worked up about.

One day we will beat a team and the opposition manager will say “they are a good side, and you can tell that by how they beat us fair and square”.
I doubt it will be any time soon. More likely we will win the next 15 in a row 2-0 and be 15 points clear at the top and opposition managers will be still be acting like they have lost to a non-League side to an offside goal and dodgy penalty.

It gets better (or worse)! This interview was with the club's own media channel.
Meanwhile, he has been charged for his ridiculous comments after our match. https://www.crawleytownfc.com/news/2020 ... fa-charge/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think the word Yem should be adopted as an insult.
“You stupid yem” has a ring to it.

He is challenging Mr.Evans as the most objectional person in the game !Horteng wrote:My god what a horrible blokeHubert Parry wrote:https://youtu.be/PuVXi3sqIkw

The Carlisle manager sounds a bit of a Yem as well.
From JP on Twitter:
Carlisle United manager Chris Beech: "Cheltenham have proper League One players and it costs a lot to recruit those boys. Liam Sercombe doesn't sign for for Cheltenham for the fun of it. (Andy) Williams left a promotion team and Reuben Reid on the bench...wow."

It was an odd interview to watch. It was a stream of back handed compliments. I do recall him giving a similarly sour interview last season.

He obviously hasn't got a clue. Sercombe,Reid and Williams signed because Cheltenham is commutable and they were impressed by our Manager. Not sure anybody would be impressed by him.
I'm sure commuting played a significant part but it's clear they are not on peanuts and we have a competitive (but no where near large wage budget). I think this has more to do with the fact Carlisle have a very low wage budget (supposedly bottom six last season) and their manager wants more funds to be released.horlickfanclub wrote:He obviously hasn't got a clue. I would guess the difference in the budgets would either be the money made on recent transfers have been used to pay for the more experienced pros or Carlisle are still paying back debts incurred during the relatively recent flooding of the city.Robin wrote:I'm sure commuting played a significant part but it's clear they are not on peanuts and we have a competitive (but no where near large wage budget). Andy Wilcox answered about our budget in the Q&A last week. Said it was middling in L2.
Never mind back handed ! What about slapping Michael Duff round the head after the game SC.would have dropped him ?Hubert Parry wrote:It was an odd interview to watch. It was a stream of back handed compliments. I do recall him giving a similarly sour interview last season.
I noticed that. MD looked around a little bit like "WTF" when he did it but decided to just let it go. Or mention it in private maybe.everyman wrote:Never mind back handed ! In fairness to Matt Taylor, he was very magnanimous in his post match interview, as he was respectful in his pre match interview.
Yes agree. Watch here.

Nicky Law similarly magnanimous.
No complaints, or knee-jerk reactions, says Nicky Law, after 5-3 Cheltenham loss

That's great. I hope they can be promoted with us.
