Hinckley United wound up.
Kettering Town survive winding up order, with 28 days to pay outstanding debts. Word is they will survive.

Our first and second opponents in the 2001-2 Cup run

Remember going to Middlefield Lane to be a part of their biggest ever attendance (at the time). Gutted to see them wound up.

Naylor and Alsop the scorers. Remember the ground being in a trading estate.

I remember sky had a man at the ground as it was billed as the most likely upset of the round. Their disappointment when the second went in was annoying.

I remember we had a large chunk of the overall crowd (about 800 away?) and it was a stroll in the park, only highlight being Jules diving header.

The record attendance at Middlefield Lane was 5410, set in 1949. I have the crowd for our game down as 2661.
The crowd from what I think was our only league visit was 992, in April 1963.

The record attendance was against Nuneaton, and my first visit to the ground in October 1985 was also against Nuneaton. The crowd of 1249 was memorable as less than 15 miles (by road) away, an English First Division team attracted a smaller crowd for their home match. (There is an excuse, Coventry were playing in the Football League's short lived and unloved "Full Members Cup" - the match was a 1-1 draw with Millwall, and it was impossible for Coventry to qualify for the next round).

I seem to recall that the goal was scored straight from the second half kick off and the camera man missed it !!
