Evesham and Cinderford Leo??

Talk about other football teams at all levels. AND ANY Glos City related threads, even if talking about the groundsharing.

Just seen a tweet from JP saying that Evesham have won their appeal and they stay in Division One South and West of the Southern League. More interesting was the next tweet "Cinderford Town will now be forced into accepting promotion to the Southern League Premier Division"

How can the FA force a team to go up and incur all the extra costs when they do not want to be promoted?

Tbf Cinderford knew the rules at the start of the season. If they did not want to go up they should have said at the start of the season as it could have impacted on how their rivals and teams in the bottom three in the league above approached games.

For example, we knew Gresley would not go up so that second would get you promoted. If we did not know that we may have given up and lost to Burton. Gloucester with no pressure may have beaten Salisbury. Then if it was announced at the end the season that actually Gresley were not going up we would have cause for complaint.

It is a bit cheeky to wait until the end of the season to do it. Teams get 'forced' to drop a division if they finish in the relegation area after all, unless there is prior warning of course.
