FA receiving public money

Talk about other football teams at all levels. AND ANY Glos City related threads, even if talking about the groundsharing.

So the FA receive £30-£40 million pound a year of our public money, so what do they actually do with it?

What's wrong with the millions of pounds they bring in from clubs and television revenue and sponsorship? Greedy bastards need to be stopped and that money would be better used on the NHS or something that really needs and deserves it.

Leo might know more about why they get anything at all?

In fairness, pretty much all of that money is, I understand, spent at grass-roots level.

I know the Premier League is a separate company, but the PL TV deals make £30m in a fortnight and could easily fund the FA.

At least as asl says a lot is spent on grass roots (as well as watches etc for World Cup voting delegates) so it is better than a lot of public funded operations, like railways, where taxpayer money goes straight to shareholders whilst the companies make losses and cuts.
