Paul Cook has left the League 2 Champions, Portsmouth, a club back on the up with a great fanbase, to go to Wigan Athletic, a club in the doldrums and with a soulless, half-empty stadium.

The pay must be all he ever dreamt of.

He is from the North West, and maybe after his stint at Accrington he has been homesick on the South Coast and wanted to move back up.

I dont think portsmouth would have done alot to stop him leaving
