Talk about other football teams at all levels. AND ANY Glos City related threads, even if talking about the groundsharing.

Fantastic win by the English girls last night to win their first big trophy. Totally dominant in the first half and after Japan made changes at half time they weathered the storm and defended brilliantly. If they can play like that in the World Cup with the injured players back, who knows how far they can go. One change I'd like to see is Phil Neville lightening up and stop putting a damper on a great performance. Well done ladies. :) :) :)

Indeed. Quite a few changes by England as well, of course. Jodie Taylor showing her class again with two great assists and vision most of the other girls in the game don't seem to have.

One thing i have noticed about the women's game is what appears to be a lack of anticipation by goalies. They often seem to be diving too late to make a save.

The standard of goal keeping in general is dreadful in the women's game. Have a crack from 40 yards - so long as it's on target you've a fair chance. That said, our keeper did make one excellent tip-over in the second half and another good block with her feet when they looked certain to score.

It's true. It does seem a bit like it's a schoolboys game, in that the worst player gets stuck in goal, so there are only a few women goalkeepers that look the part for their level. Karen Bardsley is a decent shot-stopper, if lacking in other areas, and Hope Solo another obvious one as very good by women's GK standards. But there haven't been that many. Yet.
