Thoughts?
I quite like the idea.

David Moyes: Celtic, Rangers & Premier League 2

Why should they? Why shouldn’t that have to start at the bottom and work up?
Who do they replace as if you add more games then the managers will moan even more?
Where would Prem 2 sit? In between Prem and Championship? Who goes into this new league or are the leagues shortened?

As far as I know having liked the idea for a few years the plan would be to reduce the number of teams in the league to reduce the number of games. So say now there was 16 teams in the PL1, that would be the current top 16. PL2 would then be the bottom four, plus top 12 of the Championship. So 32 clubs in the PL in total, compared to 20 now.ctfc-fan wrote:Why should they? Why shouldn’t that have to start at the bottom and work up?

Then a 24 team Champ, L1 and L2 below that as normal.
I could see it having support all the way down the leagues as it creates 12 new spaces in the League....so at the top teams like Fulham will support it because they don’t face a financial cliff edge when moving from PL to Champ. And at the bottom, Wrexham, County, etc would support it because it gets them up in to the league and then Gloucester and York etc get up to the NL.
I don’t know how a British-wide pyramid would work though.
If they incorporated a relegation / promotion link for Scottish teams, there would also be a clamour for a similar link for Northern Irish and Welsh Leagues.
In essence a nice idea from David Moyes, but in reality, it is not practicable.

where does all this 'money will filter down' nonsense come from? This last week we have seen the pure greed affiliated to the top league. Its just some stupid football saying said to appease people. like people saying a goal keeper is a 'good shot stopper', brainless nonsense.
Would be interesting if Moyes would have said this if WH were in a relegation battle??
The prem and all in it can just F**K OFF.

Expand the Premier League to 32 teams?
Why stop there? Perhaps we could add another 60 clubs, find some way of making sure that the money is distributed evenly and give all clubs the same voting rights. It could be called the Football League.
