CTFC vs Northampton Town Tuesday 25th February 2020
Whilst RCS and OTC are squabbling I'll post this prediction thread for Tuesday to give everyone food for thought!
If they keep it up I'll have to write to the editor of that world-famous newspaper The WiltsGlos Standard [known locally as the worst newspaper in the UK....ever! At least the 'old' Stroud News & Journal had a decent sport section - in which years ago I often figured within the cricket reports! ]
My take on Mansfield...Agree on MoM by a country mile; Evans saved us from numerous errors and some sloppy defending. Suspect I’m going to be pilloried but May does not appear to be a team player; very selfish. Scuffed one wide and shot from narrow angles when a pass to two of our front men would have better and with an easier chance of a decent shot. I don’t doubt his ability; but needs to recognise and be aware of better options! Drastic substitutions saw a change in fortunes and more pressure on Mansfield. But yet again any advantage given away by a few poor passes; however we were a little more direct. Cracking cross by Broome and an excellent header by Reid. The quicker he gets really fit the better. A very lucky win…..
.
I failed to mention the ref - who obviously wore yellow/tangerine armbands; the CF stand lino has a good first half, but failed with a throw-in and off-side [?] in the second!
..and now to my prediction: a draw at 1-1 with Varney to score if May bothers to pass.

# TIR, I've amended your post. RCS & I no longer squabble. Gamesmanship yes but not squabble.theidlerich wrote:CTFC vs Northampton Town Tuesday 25th February 2020

# I hope I get this forecast correct when I get round to it. I'll be at match in my usual spot on the balcony.

Toughest prediction of the season yet. Heart says a home win as we start to cement top 5. Head says in form Cobblers who themselves view this as their game in hand on Pope and Colchester will come away with a point or 3.
Home win.
2-1. May.

Beat Exeter 2-0 and if they do a job on us they overtake us. They are part of the relentless play off hunters.Shade wrote:In-form Cobblers? They've lost their last 4 (1 FA Cup, 3 league). Exeter tomorrow followed by us on Tuesday - hopefully the will have lost 6 in a row (wouldn't mind a draw tomorrow, though).
Bradford seem to be struggling to keep in touch with the top 8.
