Deserves her own thread.

Back from the brink of defeat. I don't think I've seen a player implode quite as badly as her opponent since Jana Novotna, all those years ago.

Well done, girl!

Great come-back from her. SKYBET was giving 5/2 for her to win after the first set.

I do wonder if her fella ever asks her to "bend over and prepare to receive..."

Lost the first set which she should have really won. This will test her mental strength.

Tight defeat. The thing I'm most annoyed about is not being able to watch her again this week...Wimbledon's just lost its entire appeal to me.

Imploded at 5-2 ahead in the first set tie-break. The double-fault was a shocker with her second serve not even reaching the net. The player she beat in the previous round was better than this one who beat her. Oh, well...she's only 19. There's time yet for her to learn to serve.

The serve is a hell of a lot better than it was even months ago. Was it 9 aces today? All started to go wrong when she was serving for the first set, and then just about held her next serve to save the set. She'll get there. Just unfortunately next year, as I won't be able to watch the US Open, which I assume is early September as usual.

Lisecki, Kvitova or Radwanska...I've got a sneaky feeling it might be Radwanska...

Well I'm off there tomorrow and from a patriotic perspective I would have of course liked to have seen her triumph.
From a selfish point of view though, I'm relieved that she's out as there would have been a million people in the queue tomorrow all wearing "We love you Laura" T-shirts.

Only 19 ... plenty of time to grow into a Wimbledon champion.

My Radwanska chances look on the ropes, getting treatment on the court.

So, Bartolli into the final against my or RCS's tips...

Bartolli....the diametric opposite of the slim, attractive girls coming out of the former-Soviet states, these days... Not sure if this is a one-tournament wonder for her, but she doesn't half hit it hard.

My tip for the future in the ladies is Sloane Stephens. She's like a nice Serena Williams.

Hell of a match, Lisicki v Radwanska. 5-5 in the final set but they keep breaking each others serve at crucial moments.

Whoo. 9-7 to Lisicki. Glad I never bet.

Never in doubt.

Bartoli has been in a wimbledon final before so not just a one season wonder. She is quite funny - even after her previous final she struggled to get sponsorship and when asked why in an interview she said she "wasn't tall enough, thin enough or blonde enough". Quite a character on court too.

Good to see an all western europe final for a change.
