What a decisive battle. Love this type of planned offensive with a classic pincer movement.
Let's hope that ISIS are defeated and the battle maps and diagrams are reproduced in future history books.

News organisations are streaming footage!
E.g: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/10 ... city-of-m/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I hope the cameras are following when the last ISIS fighter is captured/killed and we see the joyous scenes of liberation. Will be up there with Berlin '89 and France '45 in terms of a victory for freedom and humanity.
(Of course, had we never left Iraq and done the sensible thing and go into Syria five years ago this battle would not be needed, but let's hope world leaders learn from these mistakes).

Not entirely sure Hannibal would have gone down the road of announcing tactics in advance

Double Six, two units destroyed!asl wrote:What next? Phone in polls to make key tactical decisions? "Blow up the bridge on the main highway to the East of the City and use your ground forces on the Western Front - or attempt to capture it intact and launch your attack from there? YOU decide."

ISIS will be destroyed then the US and Russia will go head to head. Brexit Britain will have to decide who to get into bed with.

The Russian fleet movement is signaling the capture of Aleppo is not far off. The Northern and Baltic fleets will provide the power needed to win that battle.
So before too long we will see the Western Allies controlling Mosul with the Iraqi Government and Russia controlling Aleppo with Assad.
ISIS will be beaten. The question is, will an all out Western Allies vs Assad/Putin war follow straight after?
God knows why we have run down the RN and RAF to a skeleton force over the last 20 years. Hopefully Fallon will reverse this trend.

Joyful, celebratory and emotional scenes amongst the newly liberated people of east Mosul.
