I'm sure it has gone through a rigorous risk assessment process, so local residents should probably have nothing to worry about.

The part of the tip it is placed in is separate to normal household waste, and is designed to hold hazardous waste. I understand that there are few such facilities around so this might be the closest one to Salisbury. By burying the whole vehicles (which must have been encased for the road journey) it seems like this is belt and braces.

It has to go somewhere, seems like this is the sensible place for it to go.
