And how many Mosques and Jewish Temples attacked? Probably the same number if not more. The problem isn’t the nature of the religion, but religious extremists of all denominations.
How many wars have been fought because one group of religious fanatics wanted to force others to convert and murder them if not?
From the Christian crusades, to Hindu nationalists, to ISIS, history and society has been plagued by religious nutters killing people. And then you get Christians killing Christians throughout history from Tudor times to modern day Nothern Ireland and Sunni and Shia Muslims too.
When extremed religious people can’t live peacefully with other religions it impacts on us all and it is pathetic. I don’t care whether you think Jesus is a prophet or the messiah or how many arms your God has, it is no justification for discrimination or war.

Apart from the Australians, Chinese, Japanese, Americans etc who do Paris and London in one trip - just as quick to get from Paris to London than London to Cheltenham by train.Ihearye wrote:If that is the case, I would politely decline. Only one country benefits from the tourists it pulls in
Can't see anyone cancelling a tour of Europe, just because their afternoon in Notre Dame is off the listRegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:Apart from the Australians, Chinese, Japanese, Americans etc who do Paris and London in one trip - just as quick to get from Paris to London than London to Cheltenham by train.Ihearye wrote:If that is the case, I would politely decline. However bad a day you're having, somewhere in Paris, a welder has woken up in a blind panic, racking his brains trying to recall whether or not he turned it off...
It seems that Notre Dame is owned by the French state rather than the Catholic church. This is going to be the mother of all 'Church Roof' appeals - but, contrary to Mal's usual Gammon-inspired post, the EU are not insisting the member nations pay for it. At least, I cannot find any reference to such an insistence.

There is also a video in circulation of a man in the part of the roof (building already in flames), has a work person attire, and certainly up to mischief.

Oh, I knew about Tusk's speech on the matter - but I presumed you had something where he *instructed* all members to pay for it?
I half expected the video to show s shadowy figure, hunched over as if with some kind of spinal deformity.

Unfortunately, nowadays that is very difficult to find those terrorists because they use the internet nowadays via a secure connection, with the help of VPN service and nowadays that is very easy. We have e lot of free VPN services like VeePN that can totally hide your root on the internet and no one can understand your real location.
