China taking over world footy with owners and insane wages

Talk about other football teams at all levels. AND ANY Glos City related threads, even if talking about the groundsharing.

Silly money. But will it capture the globe? Only when it gets more coverage on global TV than the Prem and La Liga can we say it has taken over.

They are just doing what the Premier league did in it's infancy but blowing clubs in other leagues out of the water for wages. It still has a long way to go but if they keep spending the money it will take on.

Plus the authorities there have just changed the rules to limit clubs to only three overseas players to try and curb the spending.

That was not a reason for the change, if you read the CFA press release. Clubs anyway can still sign an extra foreigner, as the restriction is on how many play. There is also a demand that a match day squad 18, includes a minimum of two u-23 players, and at least one of these starts the game. They are trying to give more experience to domestic players in what is now a strong league, but the experience of Japan is that it takes quite a time for this to feed through as even with only 3 foreigners, many teams will have only one tactic - get the ball to the foreigner!

Having already failed (in all but mathematical terms) to qualify for 2018, one wonders if the shine will start to move away from the league if the international team do not improve before 2022.

China has hardly been a hotbed of football though has it? Yes there are similarities with the prem in its infancy but football will never be as established as it is in GB.

They are just mercenaries. Could be giving up hopes of playing for their country too as the Chinese League is a low standard. There are some big mgrs out there now too like Pellagrini (sp) Bet he's laughing re Man City lol
