Proud CTFC man and one of our best volunteers of all time. Ran the ticket office superbly. Used to remember my seat and do his best to help relatives get seats near me. Always ensured delivery of a ticket travelled from the ticket office to away games on the Team bus for exiles to pick up. A true club icon before he left.

I believe Ralph was suggesting that AB's work for his club outweighs yours, so therefore if you deserve a spot in the Directors box at York and an annual award then AB deserves at least a stand named after him.

Who decided the FGR supporter of the season btw? Other fans, or club officials?

Exactly RCS

AB was a real clubman. Worked tirelessly for the good of the club for years. Never ever puffed his chest saying "look at me Look at me" on an opposition's football forum. TBH the guy should have got recognition from the club for his many many years of excellent service till he moved away

And  at your failure yet again to answer my other question

Alan sounds like a true friend of CTFC and credit to him.
CTFC were indeed fortunate to have had him on side.
All clubs outside the Premiership need volunteers like Alan and fortunately most do.
Never knowingly got chance to meet Mr B but rest assured if we had met, we'd have got on together extremely well: the mutual love of football would have overcome any local banter.

You are under a couple of misapprehensions Ralphie.

Firstly, I did not ‘stick out my chest’: all I did was make post without embellishment.
It is you who referred to what a good job I do.
And yes I do, thanks for mentioning that.

Also I am fully entitled to make personal posts on this thread.
You will notice it is dedicated to me.

What's your view on Vince's disdain for football with the decision to deny Daggers seats?

Baffling. I don't agree with it and neither do the majority of FGR supporters.
FGR management have tried to explain the situation and said those who need seats will be accommodated.
BTW it is not Vince's decision but that of the club.

Some of you may have heard of the Groundhopper's videos.
He tries to watch as many games as possible at as many different grounds as possible.
Anyway he was on same FGR supporter's coach to Dagenham as me.
I didn't know he was the Groundhopper until I watched video.
I'm the guy putting up the FGR flag/scarf on window at beginning of journey.
Very good video and well worth watching.

Groundhop at Victoria Road - Dagenham & Redbridge vs. Forest Green Rovers - NEARLY MISSED THE GAME!

TNL looked tame to compared to how it will be if CTFC ever have cause to visit there again.

Epic scenes in the N. County vs N. County match video.

TNL was pretty hyped up for 2nd leg - on par to the visit of CTFC last season.
The proof of the pudding is that the players have said they appreciated the fans backing.
In 1st leg, Dagenham confined us like sardines to corner of stadium but we out-sung the home crowd.
On return game the home fans completely silenced the Dagenham travellers.

Not seen other video so cannot comment.

This is hardly a surprise, tbh. Daggers had very low crowds even when they were in League 2. But then they do have a lot of very big clubs within a stones throw of their ground.

I'm sure a lot of daggers were put off by FGR refusing to issue seating to them as well. More dirty tactics

and for all those FGR fans that have never seen them before or don't know the chants, here are the current FGR fav's
LOOSE YOUR INHIBITIONS. YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU. If you can't sing then just shout.

Someone asked me what the words were at Dagenham on Thursday so you're absolutely right.

Here's some favourites that everyone can join in with.

Come on Rovers, Come on Rovers, Come on Rovers. (3 times)

Your Defence is Terrified coz Doidge is on Fire...... Nah nah nah nah nah etc

We Are FGR I said We are FGR.

We've Got Liam Noble, We've got Liam Noble. He's Mark Cooper's Man
He's Better Than Zidane

Woke up This Morning Feeling Fine.
I've got Promotion on my Mind
Mark Cooper's got us playing the way We Should
Oh Yeah.
I've Got a Feeling I'm Onto Something Good.

Rovers... rovers... rovers...

On 'Something's Good' which loads here should know (Herman's Hermits 60s) you can also sing
"Something tells me I'm into something good " at the end..really easy.

"On Our Way"
Allley Alley Allley Ooooo
Allley Alley Allley Ooooo
Forest Green FC
Black and White Army
(repeat)

East Stand are familiar with and good at to the tune of Here We Go...Here We Go...Here We Go...)

"Forest Green"

Forest Green, Forest Green, Forest Green
Forest Green, Forest Green, Forest Green
Forest Green, Forest Green, Forest Green
Fo-rest Green ............Fo-rest Green

"Rovers" (Another easy East Stand favourite)
Especially if and when Tranmere sing it)

Clap Clap Clap Clap ..(slow).
Clap Clap Clap Clap..(fast) "ROVERS!"
Hope they are going to be doing the sheet of A4 with the songs on

He got some of them wrong anyway!

"We've Got Liam Noble, We've got Liam Noble. He's Mark Cooper's Man

Should be:

"We've Got Noble, Liam Noble. I just don't think you understand. He's Mark Cooper's Man
He's Better Than Zidane. We've got Liam Noble "

And, "Your Defence is Terrified coz Doidge is on Fire...... Nah nah nah nah nah etc"

Should be:

"Christian Doidge is on fire, nah nah nah nah nah, your defence os terried! nah nah nah nah nah"

I think it's actually

"Doidgey's on fire, your defence is terrified x3
"Doidgey's on fire" Ooo
"Nanananananana nanana nanana" etc

and

"We've got Noble, Liam Noble"
"I just don't think you understand"
"He's Mark Cooper's man"
"Better then Zidane"
"We've got Liam Noble"

Both very original of course ;)

Blimey, they must have some bandwagon-jumpers if they need help with the words to some of these...

How about: "if you've never been before - we played in black and white..."?

'spose Tranmere fans will be so much louder and drown-out the FGR kids that some first timers might join in with them and learn Tranmere by mistake.

Last thing one wants is to be browsing some artisan knitted vegan cheese art at Stroud market and hear people singing "we are not Scousers, we're from Birkenhead".

How about, to the "Celery" tune

"We're green, and black, want our old kit back,
The way we used to be:
Black and whiiiiite, black and whiiiite.
We wanna convince, Dale Vince,
To give us our kit back:
Black and whiiiite, black and whiiiite."

Thought I'd resurrect this thread to say that I had the biggest, largest. happiest, smile on my face today at 5pm. :D :D :D
FGR are not going down :D and
FGR have not lost to Cheltenham in the Dale Vince era. :D :D :D

Next season will be even bigger smile when FGR are one of the few teams high amongst the promotion runners. ;)
