Whether UEFA, FIFA or Mafia influenced, the Romanian ref couldn't wait to give a penalty. Doubt we'll see him in international football again.

Was at the match and it is not an understatement to say, that in the bad old days, he would have been lucky to get off the pitch / out of Belfast alive!RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote:To quote another thread: rotten from the top down.confused.com wrote:And we think we get pi55 poor officials

Ha. Inexplicable decision. I cannot believe any Ref deemed good enough for international level would make that mistake unintentionally.
Was it a good atmosphere? I have never been to WP but would like to.

Problem with getting to matches there is that tickets are very hard to get. Atmosphere was as ever excelent. I enjoy the supporting of your own team but not at the expense of abusing the opposition fans. Or drowning out their natinal anthem etc.
Enloy overseas tournaments of any sport so followed them in the euros last year as I wanted to have a few drinks mix with other gfans and have no hassle. It worked wel. But would have drawn the line at going to Russia. If it hapens that is!

Ireland's turn tonight. Must be the first Ireland game where I don't want them to win. Weird.

Delivering three times. Messi-esque. There is the similar result to the anhiliation of Poland I predicted in the other thread.

Expected the ROI to get put out but didn't expect such a capitulation. Least I would have expected was some fight in them.

Fought but when Eriksen and Delaney are on form it takes more than Irish spirit to stop them. Agree they capitulated after the third when it was too late anyway.confused.com wrote:Expected the ROI to get put out but didn't expect such a capitulation.
