I see Steps are making a comeback and the LCI Stadium is hosting the opening show.

@OfficialSteps to open summer tour at the home of the Robins on Saturday, May, 26, 2018!!"

Nice bit of publicity instead of Gloucester Rugby getting all the shows and I'm guessing a nice little income. Good work in getting the gig CTFC.

If I hadn't already awarded Ralph with RCS POTY 2017 you would be right in with a shout!

Have you seen the ticket prices?!

Assume the stage will be at the PRE meaning a couple of thousand standing on the pitch with a further with a further 5k in the seats in the CF, Hazlewoods and Main Stand. So, 7000 @ average £50 a pop = £350k

I’d hope our cut would be a minimum of £100k of that. Plus catering as well. Kerching.

Nice to get this one, instead of the racecourse. Well done to all concerned

It's an interesting thing and, although I won't be attending, I would be interested to see the set-up. I'd assume the pitch will be covered with the heavy plastic tiles that are at the stadium gigs I've been to in the past, and I would also assume that the stage would be in front of the PRE with makeshift tents or portakabins or whatever at the back end of the car park for the "performers" to use. I'd also be interested to find out what CTFC's cut is, or whether it's just an upfront payment. Well done to whoever contacted the right people to get WR on the books as a potential venue.

Pitch covered. Stage will be near halfway line. Seating in Hazelwoods and CF with free standing on covered pitch I assume.

Covers have not worked well at some cricket venues. i.e. Manchester,Chesterfield.

I bet our poor Groundsman is delighted that there is a pop concert on his hallowed turf 3 weeks after the end of the season. Not.

Money will come in handy though ....

Quite easy to build a raise platform cover over the pitch with minimum contact points. One evening in summer should earn us as much profit as a season or three of ground sharing over winter. A no-brainer.

That reminds me of the weirdest ear-worm I had a few weeks ago: Punjabi Girl - a highly-amusing version of that song by the Goodness Gracious Me crew, way back when... "come on Deepa, let's go Bhangra..." Loved that show!

Going for an English is one of the best comedy sketches ever - the only one that I think beats it is Four Candles.

let's be positive. It's 3 weeks after not 3 weeks before the end of season. Plenty of time to get the pitch right after

Hee! "Gimme the blandest thing you've got on the menu. And some of those 'bread roll' things...with 'butter'..."

I really hope it sells out and encourages the club to host more events such as this. Good way to get some revenue from the facilities during the closed season.

It's the only thing that's both likely to get my wife to Whaddon Road, and keep me away from there.

Oh well, if Aqua will be there then it would be remiss of me to not attend, just for Doctor Jones and Cartoon Heroes...
