Well and truly in the mire needing £200k in the next 15 days, lots of rallying around from other clubs but until a club actually disappears then no lessons are going to be learnt and clubs will continue to act outside of their means or be a magnet to some rather unsavoury owners.

Is a real shame to see a proper club struggling. A shabby but classic old ground. Decent fans throughout their long history.

That's modern football. Too high costs for clubs with not enough income, at the mercy of spivs on the make. Until wage caps and/or ticket price caps are introduced in the lower leagues, alongside the Premier League increasing hand-outs by £1m per L1/2 club (ringfenced in a club trust which can't be asset grabbed by spivs) to offset the inflation the PL causes, it will only happen to more and more old clubs which have been built up and sustained by thousands and thousands of people over decades and decades, only to see that history and value destroyed.

A fit and proper persons test worthy of the name would be a great start to weeding out unscrupulous owners.

Unfortunately, the FA/FL suits come from the same business culture that allows BHS asset stripping, or Tesco false accounting, PPI miss selling, etc, to happen so the unscrupulous owners probably look decent and normal to them.

Boro fans return a 21 year old favour to help Hartlepool survive.

Maths again not your strongest suit, RCS. That favour was almost 32 years ago.
It is good to see fellow supporters helping each other out like that. Would we help our rivals out when the golden goose stops laying?

Correct. I still struggle to accept how old I am. Euro 96 feels just ten years ago!

(Though, "again"?. Not sure you'll find another mathematics error in any of my 1,000,000 and counting posts).
