Sounds like a kids TV show aimed at 6-10 year olds with an unbearably simple, catchy theme tune.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote: Robin’s rumours.

Andy Williams was 100 per cent a target, albeit an ambitious one (nothing wrong with that).

I would hope any ten year olds in my family have moved on to more intellectual and educational fodder.Shade wrote:Sounds like a kids TV show aimed at 6-10 year olds with an unbearably simple, catchy theme tune.RegencyCheltenhamSpa wrote: Robin’s rumours.

Had an offer been made? Just informal talks? Or were we just one of many clubs who’d express an interest if asked?Jon Palmer wrote:Andy Williams was 100 per cent a target, albeit an ambitious one (nothing wrong with that).
Be plenty of players we consider and might want who we never decide to make an offer to.

See above posts.Robin wrote:Stop trolling RCS seriously, both myself and Jon have told you he was a target.
I'm with RCS on this. Peterborough targeted Mo Eisa, but they were never in with a shout. Similarly, we targeted Mullins and got him, because he was a realistic target. We don't know how far any negotiations with Williams got, if there were any at all.

Same as Peterborough’s very serious interest in Mo?Robin wrote:Shade the answers are out there to those questions, both Jon and I confirmed there was a very serious interest.

The subtlety of the point is that a derisory verbal offer with no intention of meeting the asking prices is more of a ‘nice to have’, than ‘serious target’.Robin wrote:To be honest I don't know as much about that but Jon confirmed they made a verbal offer.
If we did get as far as negotiating things like contract length with Williams, it could easily be a case of Gary not thinking Williams was worth it and that we are better off saving the money for a more important target as much as it is us having “missed out”.
