I'm intrigued by how hey have the upper hand when they haven't finished above us for 35 years.

That being said, I agree they're better best ignored.

Yes, yes, yes.

In the When Saturday Comes season guide, the FGR correspondent highlighted their win at our place as the highlight of their season. He also acknowledged that the Vince sideshow is an unhelpful distraction.

I heartily agree with both sentiments.

Looks like Hummel are struggling to come to terms with having to print these pathetic stars and are yet to supply the kit for FGR to play in! Probably all in the factory laughing too much!

OR ...

Hummel could be coming to terms with the possibility that FGR haven’t got the money to pay for the order

Quite likely.

I see some ignorant pleb on that FGR peasant thread is suggesting Hummel are the ones in financial trouble.

Hardly! Not only do they provide kit for hundreds of football (and other clubs) around the world they also supply the kits for a number of national teams in football and handball. They are a very well performing company.

I am good friends of the global marketing manager of a high quality outdoor/technical clothing brand who are in early stage takeover talks with a sports chain, and they look to Hummel as one of the best companies in that market segment.

Laughable that FGR think they have any clout to play hardball with the global giant - do they really think Hummel’s kit deals in Asia will suffer from FGR displaying their logo upside down on the website or from Vince mouthing off about broken promises.

Desperate and so arrogant from FGR who want their bespoke kit from what must be one of Hummel’s lowest value accounts.

I would be careful if I was Dale Vince - too much mouthing off and libelling Hummel and they could easily pick up the phone to other Danish industrialists to ensure Ecotricitry are blacklisted from any wind turbine supply chain deals.

Of course it won’t come to that as some oddball egoist, despite
running Gloucestershire’s biggest energy company, is nothing more than an irrelevant speck in the global operations of Hummel.

EcoTricity are in a mess of their own making and will not be able to compete against bigger and stable organisations bidding for lucrative contracts. One would hope that Danish Industrialists will have done their own homework on potential bidders, without having to rely on Hummel to warn them. But hearing the same damning narrative from more than one source would prove the old adage about bad news travelling the fastest.

Some gems from the nut-munchers forum regarding the late kit from Hummels:

“Yup, bad bad PR for Hummel and they will find it hard to recover from this. Teams aren't going to want to go back to them. I wonder if we will consider breaking our 2 year contract”

‘What an utter shambles this famous club forced to play in light blue. Mind you thinking about it you could say this famous club forced to play in green and black but that would be old school and controversial. Damn, did I say that out loud.”

'This famous club' Who do they think they are? Real Madrid?

Bad PR. I hadn't and probably never would have even heard about it were it not for this thread. The opinion some of them have of their little club is staggering, just because they have that egotistical fool in charge and the BBC have done a couple of articles on them.

If anything, Hummel have gone up in my estimation for messing them about.

I know right... Hummel probably have more spare change under the couches in their offices than Ecotricity has in it's bank account..
Really FGR are a total embarrassment.

This link doesn’t work for me, so instead I tried to find whatever it’s about on Dale Vince’s own Facebook page. Found this:

“Dale Vince
5 September 2011 ·
Hi all - just a quick reminder that I very, very rarely hang out on Facebook, so it's best to get in touch with me using other means if you can...
Cheers.”

So it looks like OTC could be peddling FAKE NEWS

For the benefit of moderator Ralph and perhaps one or two others I posted Facebook link to correct some of the erroneous posts on this thread.
I posted it without comment.
Members of this forum now have information for either side of the debate. DV says it a lot better in his BBC interview than I could write it up.
In some ways I am grateful to moderator Ralph for re-presenting my post because it has doubled the number of times this Facebook link appeared on Robin’s Nest [now 3rd time with this post].
Thanks Ralph.

And I must say that I am not surprised with what moderator Ralph posted. He has apparently neglected to have read the thread title More Dale Vince nonsense on new FGR kit which thereby automatically allows me a reply but then makes threats when I do. He forgets that last year he conducted a poll as to whether I should be banned from Robin’s Nest and much to his chagrin I secured well over 70% massive support to continue as an active member of this forum. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D An honour I intend to uphold.
For his and others information I have no wish to post on this forum and will not comment upon Cheltenham but will nevertheless continue to write whenever a poster brings FGR into disrepute [and even then I’ll let some posts go knowing that fair minded Cheltenham fans know the guy is just a mischief maker – unlike me].

ps Ralph, I noticed b4 posting that a member of this forum has read DV's Facebook entry. Weakens your argument about spamming.

Rather than diversionary tactics by criticising Ralph, why not address the points made re: Hummel being a global business who won’t care what Vince says on Facebook and more importantly, the job losses at Ecotricity at the same time as Vince subsidises FGR losses.

If you answered the questions raised rather than ignoring them then Ralph may be more respectful.

OTC you are a tw*t. Substitute an i or an a. Your choice
The only reason you're still here is that we are a fair minded lot here

You still haven't responded to some of the criticism heading you way. Clue? Vince
putting signing on fees ahead of job security at Ecotricity. Maybe you should apply for
a job there. That might sharpen up your thinking.

Yep all the job losses at Ecotricity to fund the FC. There will come a time when Vince needs to decide which is more important, the FC or his business. He will choose the business.. then what happens to FGR? Same as happened to the Annies

So true but he won't respond as usual. Too busy being a Billy Brownnose to DV to even consider the poor folk who have lost their jobs to help sustain the unsustainable football club.

I thought this was a football forum.
However I’ll impart info about Ecotricity that is in the public domain.
Firstly I asked Ecotricity to confirm statement by Elpuz on Robin’s Nest that the company was going bust. I received an emphatic reply that his post was FAKE.

Job losses are terrible and I truly sympathise with anybody who is no longer in employment. I don’t know the staffing situation within Ecotricity but checked out their website and read that they have a number of well paid vacancies.

Not that I disagree with the sentiment, but Max Griggs took on too much business, the wrong sort and at the wrong time and that’s what caused his whole empire to collapse so the business suffered as well as the club.

This from someone who knew him well.

RCS, I know for a fact that most on this forum are bewildered by your unhealthy obsession with FGR. There are many, many threads on FGR and nearly all started by you. Members of the Robin’s Nest are more interested in Cheltenham Town FC rather than getting distracted by FGR.
Hopefully when I confirm the actual true facts it will show that you initiated another poppycock debate and that you’ll see good sense and cease starting these FGR threads.

I note that you and Elpuz and others have both requested me to respond.
I’ll start by stating that this season’s kit was ordered back in January and Hummel promised delivery in May. It is now August and three games into new season and Hummel have not delivered. Therefore your thread title is totally out of order: Dale Vince, as chairman of FGR, has been duped by this company and has every right to complain.
Subsequently nearly all posts on this thread have been adversely influenced by your incorrect title heading and must be read with a large dose of salt.

Glasgow Rangers, Charlton Athletic and Telford have also been affected by late deliveries from Hummel. [Elpuz, reference your post dated 16 Aug 8.27: are these clubs also unable to pay Hummel as you claim?]

RCS, your post dated 16 Aug 8.58; You state that Hummel are looked upon as one of the best companies of kit for national teams. Then please explain why they have not delivered kit to four different British teams at start of football season?
If they are the best either they are in a financial mess or are totally incompetent. It is unfortunate that Rangers, Charlton, Telford & FGR all ordered kit off them.

RCS, your post dated 16 Aug 12.00; Yes Hummel should be frit rigid in upsetting FGR, despite FGR being a village club. FGR have publicity beyond the best of most football clubs – for instance pre-season there were at least 146 pieces of Forest Green Rovers coverage from over 30 countries.
[On same day there were 5 pieces of coverage referencing Cheltenham Town FC - two of which came from the Hartlepool Mail.]

Ralph, your post 16 Aug 13.51; I noted that you used the word ‘probably’ on post “Hummel probably have more spare change under the couches in their offices than Ecotricity has in it's bank account.”
Therefore use of word ‘probably’ totally nullifys your comment.

Reference drgm’s post 16 Aug 22.45; I find it amusing that you resort to name calling when I’ve been totally honest and truthful. Presumably you would not object if I refer to you in same terms but I won’t because I’m too decent a gentleman to do so.

Ralph, as a moderator you are expected to show a good example on Robin’s Nest. You know my designated username – USE IT.

Anyway I’ve answered all queries and proven that this thread has been built as a castle on sand.
Dale Vince has been unfairly maligned and this thread should now be locked.

As you say, it is a football forum. So why won’t you comment on FGR expenditure and Vince’s subsidising financial losses which appear to have happened at the same time as Ecotricity redundancies. Was it £2-3million FGR lost during promotion season? How many jobs at and how much investment in Ecotricity could have been funded with that?

You literally cheered with joy at Wembley whilst people were losing jobs.

Re: Hummel. I trust financial data and people who work in senior positions in the sector above an old bloke who can’t even understand away attendance figures - but thanks for your comical comments.

His post was most definitely not "FAKE". I saw it with my own two eyes.

I find OTC to be incredulous. We know that FGR control their own Forum to stop people telling it like it is. OTC has taken it upon himself to be the propaganda mouthpiece for FGR, when we can all see what is really going on. I don’t know whether he is completely brainwashed or whether he just peddles the party line.

Let me make it absolutely clear - I did not create fake news. I obtained reports from insiders from EcoTricity who are telling it like it is despite the efforts of that organisation to try and put the lid on the truth. In fact, OTC even uses the FGR Forum to try and disprove what we on the Robins Nest are finding out - which is laughable when we already know how the FGR Forum is strictly controlled and therefore cannot be a reliable indication of anything factual.

OTC is unable to even quote the party line correctly. Vince made redundancies and was quoted in a leaked email to staff about the massive financial losses being a problem and that he was taking responsible for it. We also know of same day redundancies at EcoTricity that are being challenged by ex-staff because it probably contravenes employment law for the way it has been handled. The alleged recruitment of well paid (senior?) positions that OTC boasts about implies desperation to try and turn things around. It is current and ex-staff who are saying the company is going bust, and FGR and EcoTricity are not going to be able to shut everyone up.

OTC has still not answered how FGR can justify spending money on giving signing-on payments to new players when EcoTricity are losing so much money and making staff redundant?

Is this all fake news? One thing that will find it all out is TIME. At some stage and probably fairly soon, the cash flow will dry up and the truth will out.

Time will tell. Their fans read our forum (we'd come on yours but why should we give up names, addresses, postal/zip codes, phone numbers etc for a football forum.)

It's amazing more don't question DV and his motives. They will die. They are not known as black and white stripes anymore. It's bright green. If they don't stand up and fight to stay at the New Lawn, they will lose the last thing that ties them to Nailsworth. The name will then change and they will all be puppets on strings controlled by DV. When he cuts those strings.. RIP FGR
It's coming and the job losses at Ecotricity are part of it

Elpuz, no way - not a chance whatsoever.
You are not a gentleman much less a lord. I refer you of course to your crude lavatorial post on the Carl Winchester thread which no right minded and decent football supporter would ever consider posting.
It gave me great delight to rub your nose in your own offensive words when I posted that Carl scored equalising goal in FGR’s 4-1 away win at Grimsby and that was doubled when I also posted that Carl was MoM for match.

And to call yourself lord is the height of pomposity. I did read out aloud your avatar name which comes across as: ‘Lord help us’. I’m not sure if it applies to Cheltenham Town FC or whether you are one of life’s losers. I suspect both.

For your information Ralph is a moderator and is therefore expected to uphold the fine traditions of a moderator and treat fellow members of Robin’s Nest with utter respect. He lamentable failed to do so in his post directed to me.
I am not a moderator.

Check out press release I supplied and you’ll read that this year Ecotricity will be in profit.

You literally cheered with joy at Wembley whilst people were losing jobs.
What a bizarre, baffling, simple minded and fundamentally FAKE rubbish post by you RCS.
FGR had two recent trips to Wembley in May 2016 & May 2017. The redundancies were announced in June 2018.

Re: Hummel. I trust financial data and people who work in senior positions in the sector above an old bloke who can’t even understand away attendance figures - but thanks for your comical comments.
RCS, you seem unable to understand that Hummel for whatever reason failed deliver kit to four different football clubs in the UK in time for start of season. They have the major problem – not me.

BTW be very careful, I mean very careful, when you quote attendances.
FGR had a poor attendance for first game of season [2,759] BUT it was higher than that for Cheltenham. And I will quote a post on Robin’s Nest that will give you food for concern: "I am fairly certain Saturday was our lowest crowd in the football league on a weekend. It was the sort of crowd we'd get mid-week games with low away following, truly shocking attendance."
RCS, you are on dodgy ground referring to attendances. I once again suggest that you cease digging with facetious FGR threads and just concentrate on Cheltenham Town’s progress.

Guys,
I’ll give you a bit of background as to why I became a member of Robin’s Nest and remain a member.
Two decades ago I was working in Cheltenhamshire alongside passionate Cheltenham Town season ticket holders. They were my friends and still are. That is why I eventually joined Robin’s Nest.
Everything was tickety-boo for years.
During this period I was fortunate to attend the first wedding by a lifelong CTFC fan to be conducted at Whaddon Road.
Unfortunately Ralph and a few others seem incapable to understand that I’m firstly a football fan as well as being a FGR supporter. In their minds they made wild assumptions that because I’m FGR I’m an enemy of CTFC. No so.
If you check out my posts you’ll find that I respond to FGR threads but say nothing of disrespect about CTFC.
Regrettably the Robin’s Nest have in RCS an obsessive who seemingly checks out FGR more than his own club. He has initiated dozens of anti-FGR FAKE threads which has wound up many of this site. I then get grief from them when attempting to put the record straight. But I am always honest and truthful [whether stupid is another matter.]
This thread is a perfect example where RCS did not do his homework. Hummel are 100% in the wrong but he makes mockery of the FGR chairman simply because RCS’s works business has connections with Hummel. If that be the case RCS’s employers could well go bust alongside Hummel.
I have already suggested that this topic be locked but there still be a few post from guys who are dancing on the head of a pin trying to score bounty points. I’ve answer everything requested with actual links while they offer merely FAKE opinions.
Having said that I did enjoy Elpuz falling into an elephant trap that he created for himself.
Yeeeessss.

Blimey, not sure you're the person to be pontificating about anything that concerns attendance figures.

And 'food for concern'?!

OTC, my businesses have nothing to do with Hummel - read what I said.

And well done for deciphering Lord Help Us - we would never have figured that one out for ourselves.

Who did you get to help you with the attendance figures, or did our constant correction of your errors last season finally get through that strange brain of yours?
