About time we had a decent run in the cup again.

It's nearly 6 years since we played Everton and that was the last time we had any sort of run really.

To lose four times in the last five seasons to Conference teams ain't good, but perhaps shows where we are as a club these days ?

So come on Duffo and the boys, let's be 'avin you !

I do not want to turn the radio on at 5 pm tomorrow and hear Ebbsfleet 1 Cheltenham 0.

(TBH I'm a bit out of touch with the FA Cup - is there a replay if it is a draw or extra time/penalties ?)

Surprisingly (to myself at least), we are not favourites to win tomorrow.

That 2/1 for a 90 mins victory is looking rather tempting.

As for the question, I believe it's a replay if drawn, but not 100% sure either.

In theory we are only 16 places ahead of them.

If we played the team 16 places ahead of us at home I would be expecting at least a draw.

Although in my view the gap between League and Park makes it more like a 26 place gap.

Except this season where we are useless at home  ?

Correct, hence the fan frustration. Every season the fan expectation is quite rightly “win home matches”.

Don't be so rude, and don't forget where you came from.

2/1 seems cracking odds as I am convinced today you will throw off your modern FA jinx and progress to a money spinning tie in the next round.

I am well remembered - just being deliberately derogatory about non-League for the six months whilst we still can before joining the Conference ranks again, and probably more permanently than last time.

I think this weekend will determine the whole season. Win and a nice home draw in R2 to get to R3 and it brings some positivity. Defeat and it is like when we replaced Yates after winning 5-0 against Swindon only to lose to Dover in R2 under Buckle and went down in hapless manner.

I think we will do Ebbsfleet this afternoon. There was fight and a belief last week against a very physical Mansfield side and we were unlucky not to win. Remember, we stormed the Conference and it can be argued (successfully, I feel) that our current squad is stronger and more experienced than our Champions of 2015/16.

But tonight Matthew, I am going to be an Oxford United fan. Only because I saw a Range Rover with the registration “1 OTC” around Cheltenham this morning (the damned audacity ;) ) and it reminded me of that awful outfit just up the road. The FA Cup only needs one Gloucestershire representative in the next round. Please let it be our turn this year. I believe it will be.

.....intrigued...was it a Bentley or a Trabant?
Perhaps we should have a competition to see if 'we' can photo the car and plate? You know the sort - match the saying to....

There is a vehicle in my village with the last three licence plate characters RCS, but alas no relation.

Also an RNF I see most days walking to the station.

We are still in the hat for Round 2 and therefore in the draw tomorrow night, I can hear it now ...

Cheltenham Town or Ebbsfleet United, will play ........... Solihull Moors.

Danny Wright scored an absolute corker today, as Solihull defeated Hitchin 0-2.

Of all the numbers to avoid surely it’s 22 - Hartlepool or gillingham away :?

Surely the plum draw. Gillingham’s iconic concrete and the scenic wetland surrounding it is one of the few places one would rather be than Ebbsfleet.

And Hartlepool - the National Museum of the Royal Navy would be a better bet than the footy.

Ebbsfleet beating us would be the best result.

Really terrible draw, but at least gives bitter people like me a reason to hate.

The BBC execs will be tugging each other at the merest possibility that Stanley will be in the third round. They’ll be trying to outbid BT already for the rights to show the Club That Wouldn’t Die in Round 3 if they make it.

Well I would love to upset the apple cart. Can’t wait to say “Milk kid one....milk kid two....your boys have taken one hell of a beating.”
