Reminiscent of Putin changing the laws about the number of terms he can serve or the German Chancellor getting absolute power via the Enabling Act in 1933.

Will this go down in history as the ‘Bullingdon Coup’?

A real test of one of the world’s oldest Parliaments. I am sure those who can will be working to prevent end of democracy.

Time to ‘Take Back Control’.

The ERG group are desperate to get as far away from the forthcoming EU tax rules as they can, as they would have to actually contribute to the public purse. Rees-Mogg's £103m profit from last year would be hit and someone in the know reckons Johnson would be paying £1200 a week. They couldn't give a toss about the "common" man as they have enough stashed away to survive any knock to the economy.

I wouldn’t necessarily say concern that a few individuals are pursuing a policy which will be the detriment of you and me purely to avoid tax transparency legislation and to make a killing on forex hedge funds is having a chip on one’s shoulder.

A lesson to the likes of Johnson: school ties and dodgy deals may give you an arrogant sense of immunity to bend the laws, but when you reach the top, public scrutiny is amplified and you will be found out for the crooks you are.

News from the City this evening that one of the big winners from the risk of No Deal Brexit Crispin Odey (one of Johnson’s major funders who also suspiciously happened to bet on the pound falling just before each of Johnson/Cummings’ announcements caused the pound to fall) lost big time today when the pound rose after the legal verdict. He had taken another short position on the pound (like he did just before his mate prorogued Parliament - almost like he knew it was going to happen, hmm) expecting Johnson to win the case.

Not so easy is it Crispin when you have to make a real bet and use your own judgement rather than relying on Boris for insider trading!

Several hedge funds and MP's connected to them stand to lose a lot of money if we are still in the EU on Nov 1st; could this explain at least some of the desperation to get out by his date?

Double whammy of losing from their bets on the pound and having to face up to new tax transparency laws. I wonder how many hard Brexit MPs we will see choosing not to stand for re-election so they won’t be in the public eye when their market manipulation and tax avoidance hits the newspapers?
