agree on teh self employed, that still needs looked at as it is only allowing them to access UB and SSP. As for gig, it is a broad brush that one. Some will be on PAYE terms and so are covered, others will be, I guess, termed as self employed. So would fall into the first group ?TBH this is all so mad I have no doubt HMG are learning as they go along and catching up as and when trade bodies are saying, great b..... but, what about.
Just like teh GCSE and A level. Not sure what is wrong with todays kids, that they seem to go into meltdown over the slightest thing. If they are prepared to wait a day or two, then things get explained. There was some sixth former on the news the other day saying, where University entrance etc etc was concerned, he didn't want to become 'a forgotten generation'! No my friend, you are a year group, who had to wait 24 hours, not a generation. Snowflakes

Good longish read on the behind the scenes tension of the last ten days. No consensus amongst scientists, SAGE or advisors, let alone amongst Cabinet. Some interesting quotes and thoughts from different sides of the debate:

Here is the latest. He really is giving Ralph full WUM treatment.Shade wrote:The level of drivel OTC spouts is unparalleled. And the fact he doesn't even seem to realise it is astonishing. I mean, it would be a decent joke if he was doing it for comedy value. If anybody takes him or his OTT, delusional, ill-informed, mathematically-challenged, "I spoke to the girl in the office" ramblings seriously I fear for their mental health.
Resume of my ban. You couldn't make it up.
“Within minutes of me relating my banning post on forum it had been copied and reposted on the Cheltenham forum. And I am absolutely chuffed to bits about it.
Shows that those in Cheltenham are addicted to our great forum. In fact I think we have about double the number of regular contributors than their own.
But more importantly to me personally is that the above paragraph, where I reminded everybody that FGR had not lost to Cheltenham in years but had secured four wins in same period, was included on their copy.
Obviously I would not and did not gloat on their forum whenever FGR won an ElGlosico match.
I usually got banned by a cussed Ralph within hours of final whistle.
So I’m well pleased that after the years of unrelenting and unfair flak that I’ve taken from them I get to have the last laugh.
Having a post on their forum with the four laughing emojo’s [sic] at their misfortune is wonderful: that is one gloating emojo [sic] for every FGR win. And they did it to themselves which makes it even funnier.
So my message to Ralph, who I know reads this forum: ‘it is those who laugh last, laugh the loudest’. And I’m the one laughing the loudest.
Glory, glory Forest Green Rovers
ps Ralph, I’ve taken screenshot of my post on the Cheltenham forum for prosperity [sic].”
Hee! In all seriousness, I heard that the producers of Grey's Anatomy have handed over all the gowns, masks and gloves and stuff that can be used in reality to their local hospitals following an appeal.Ihearye wrote:fair play to Diane Abbot calling for BBC to stop filming Holby and Casualty. Good to have something to laugh at and mock. And if he gets satisfaction from it then it is win win.Si Robin wrote:To be fair - if people keep relaying his c!#p on to here then it kind of looks like we do.
I am not on social media, but a plea for those that are to spread this as widely as possible. Especially amomg the younger generation https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0877mb2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Surely they will have to do something more for the self employed soon? Kudos to the government for employing some very welcome socialism.Ihearye wrote:agree on teh self employed, that still needs looked at as it is only allowing them to access UB and SSP. Judging by what was going on down the road last night they need to be banning house parties as well.

Hard to believe the morons who held and then turned up at Gloucester carboot yesterday. Beggars belief, the stupidity of people.
We have more or less each day, exactly tracked Italy (+ 14 days), since their first death. Which puts us on course for approx 4500+ deaths in 14 days time. But still the morons do not listen. Worst examples of mankind and greed

Totally agree. We're going to end up in a worse situation than Italy if this idiocy carries on.Ihearye wrote:Hard to believe the morons who held and then turned up at Gloucester carboot yesterday. Beggars belief, the stupidity of people.

Meanwhile Germany is now advising people to stock up on sausages & cheese. This is known as the Wurst Käse scenario.

Yet still the media continue to report the highly improbable news that there have been more deaths in Italy than China! I wonder do they actually believe that or should they be doing what good journalists do, verify before publishingjoes dad wrote:Very interesting read=Ihearye wrote:Is Italy really outstripping China on Covid 19
