Happy with that, potential new ground to visit (if we can travel) along with Bolton.

If the authorities have any sense they will change the rules and allow these pitches. Last thing clubs need in the current circumstances is games called off for bad weather etc.

In fact, giving grants for new pitches to all L2 and L1 clubs who want one would be a very sensible investment in the post-lockdown recovery of the game.

Yes,given that the pitches can often be used by the community you'd think that they would be positively encouraged.

Oh wait Gloucester City have one (nearly)

Harrogate have now said they have an agreement with the EFL,that in the event of promotion they will rip the 3G pitch up and replace with grass. The work will take about 10 weeks and must start by 4th of August. If the season starts on Sept 12th then they are saying they will need to groundshare for the first few home games.
Will they need to do something with regards to capacity,as i believe theirs is only around 3,800.

Possibly look forward to a rare away game @Harrogate; providing the ever distant solution of a vaccine is realised.
Congrats to Harrogate FC.
On the issue of artificial pitches; the better ones are superior to some of the muddy and sandy wastelands we have seen in the past; even at Whaddon Rd!

The Notts County forum is an interesting read, almost as though they expected this result, none ) of the brashness: we're too big for this league (eg Grimsby

That true. Cut a bit of slack with the red tape.

The capacity at the CNG stadium is now 5,000. Another stand has been erected this summer and plans to rebuild the clubhouse end have been approved which will further increase crowd potential. An interesting question is where will all the new fans come from? Before lockdown the Sulpherites attracted 1000-1500 fans for a home league game.

Visits from Bolton and Bradford amongst others will greatly increase average crowd numbers.

Cup games, room for growth, big away turnouts as suggested above.

League 2 and L1 minimum requirements etc.

Perfectly sensible and positive development even if they continue to only get 1,500 fans for the next few years.

I do find it remarkable when people question such positive developments. We ourselves benefitted so much from the guys who built the old main stand. I bet at the time we were not close to filling the ground, but that didn’t matter - it gave us room to grow and facilitated rise up the leagues.
