... to Halifax on loan for the rest of the season.

Thanks and goodbye, sorry it never worked out here.

Come on Duffo, we’re getting very light up front now. Oh, and don’t sign any more forwards from our friends upon the hill....

Bit surprised, I thought he showed a couple of nice touches and some energy when he went on. But who knows what goes on behind the scenes. Does this mean someone new is imminent?

I was thinking that two weeks ago when Reid left!

But it just goes to show how difficult it is sometimes getting quality forwards to join us, I remember John Ward saying he approached over 20 strikers before he got one in. And we had a few duffers back then like Andy Smith from Preston and the chap from Crawley whose name I can't recall.
(Edit, just remembered it was Guy Madjo, but Keith Downing signed him.)

The optimist in me is hoping that MD is playing his cards close to his chest. Is feeding the press some red herrings, then pulls a couple of aces out of the deck. The pessimist, fears we are now down to about #10 on our preference list.

Either way, just have to keep the faith and keep plugging away. maybe when MD talks about the pieces all have to fall into place. This is one of them .......

Maybe Paterson or Boulding will come out of retirement and finally sign.

so what is going on
a couple of scenarios
someone we are chasing is cup tied so will not sign till next week

or we are going for a veteran who is holding out to be paid off by his club or a better offer so we will not see him until 31st Jan

or a loan who will only come in after the man city match so as not to upset anyone

or we are waiting for a bargain

We need cover so would hope to get 1 or 2 loans in soon

We are waiting to have a cheeky chat to a few on the oppositions bench on Saturday?

Play him on Saturday. A good 30 mins cameo, sell for £5 million with 25% sell on clause for when City sell him to Villa or or someone for £15 million in a few years after zero appearances.

So to confirm Mal - if you are injured, 18 and tipped to be in the first team within the next 18 months you have to sell them? As they are not fit and scoring more than a goal a game at first team level. All I can say is WOW. I would certainly hate to be a hot prospect during your tenure.

I've been in the game far too long to sniff out the sicknotes...far too long.

So because he’s been injured twice since turning professional he is now a sick note? Is Flinders now a sick note as he is getting over a bruised shin after breaking his leg.

Tav was a wanted man apparently.

Sadly we never saw any of the attributes that the Halifax manager describes......

So were two goalkeepers. I suspect he was making up the numbers.

But the two goalkeepers weren’t injured, were they.

They were just as likely to play a part in the game.
