Former Cheltenham player, but much better known for scoring one of the most famous FA Cup goals of all time for Hereford against Newcastle in 1972, Ronnie Radford has died aged 79.

John Motson believes that if it wasn't for his goal he wouldn't have remained at the BBC and had a career as a commentator.

RIP Ronnie.

Yes, RIP. Ronnie.

Remember him well as one of our best players at left-half and left back.
Odd really because he was very much right footed and also because the thunderous shot for Hereford that he will forever be remembered for was quite a rarity as at Whaddon Road they always flew a couple of foot over the crossbar.

RIP Ronnie.
You were one of my early heroes when I first became a Robins fan in 1968.
I hope we have a minutes applause for Ronnie on Saturday. How fitting for a FA Cup legend.

R.I.P. Ronnie, a schoolboy hero. A honour for him that a player of his level will always be remembered in the game for that goal

Same for me, one of my two boyhood heroes from 1960's, the other being Joe Gadston. I remember being disappointed when Ronnie signed for Hereford.

Has to happen. Would be absolutely staggered if not.
