Former Cheltenham player, but much better known for scoring one of the most famous FA Cup goals of all time for Hereford against Newcastle in 1972, Ronnie Radford has died aged 79.
John Motson believes that if it wasn't for his goal he wouldn't have remained at the BBC and had a career as a commentator.

Odd really because he was very much right footed and also because the thunderous shot for Hereford that he will forever be remembered for was quite a rarity as at Whaddon Road they always flew a couple of foot over the crossbar.

Same for me, one of my two boyhood heroes from 1960's, the other being Joe Gadston. I remember being disappointed when Ronnie signed for Hereford.
