I see all the forest fans are out bemoaning how unfair it is that they've been punished for cheating.

Also their rationale for (over)spending was that they wanted to be 'competitive' in the prem, every team wants to be competitive it's just some work within the legal means and don't cheat.

Its time for Man City to face the music. Its ok to pick the low hanging fruit but they need to do City for all the years they have got away with abusing the system

Agreed. It was obvious to all that they were over-spending.

I understand their gripe about double-standards. The authorities seem to be weirdly reluctant to punish Man City.

this whole Man City saga is taking the pi55 now, I presume the authorities can pull their fingers out when they need to, the Man City prosecution case does have a whiff of 'kicking it down the road' to it, especially as its a Euro Championship summer as well.

But as has been said before, Man City have 116 charges, not just a couple like Everton and Forest. It's obviously going to take a lot longer to go through 116. It takes solicitors a bloody age to do anything, no matter how much they're paid. And there's no point in just docking them points/demoting them/ stripping them of titles as they will just appeal, it will go on for years and they'll eventually get it overturned because they weren't allowed enough time to submit whatever.

On top of which, City are denying everything, with rumours that they have been making off-account payments and greatly inflating payments from connected parties for "sponsorship" etc, which were far above fair-market rates - stuff which is very hard to prove. Plus they are employing the best lawyers money can buy. Oh, and some of these charges go back nine years.

By contrast, Forest handed over their accounts and co-operated fully with the PL in the hope of getting a reduced punishment, while Everton "reported themselves" even before the deadline and co-operated with the PL in the hope of avoiding punishment. Part of this process involved the PL permitting (otherwise excessive) allowances for their new stadium spending, in return for the club voluntarily agreeing a transfer embargo.

Which latter agreement worked well until they appointed Frank Lampard as manager and he signed a load of overpriced dross which blew the "agreement" to bits.

So Forest and Everton are merely incompetent buffoons, whereas City are devious, malicious, cheating, lying you-know-whats.

Allegedly.

both the FA and Man City just want this to go away and if they "both" take long enough it will.
