Beyond the pale from Sepp Blatter

Talk about other football teams at all levels. AND ANY Glos City related threads, even if talking about the groundsharing.

What utter tripe. No wonder nothing happens to stop dodgy car dealers taking over lower league teams when the man at the very top is as corrupt and arrogant as Blatter is.

I feel the last remaining shred of respect that there is for FIFA will disappear if he is re-elected again.

Looks like good politics to me. Blatter knows that his chances of remaining in the post depends on African, Caribbean and Asian votes. Claims that the allegations against Qatar bid are racist will go down well in these places.

The current FIFA enquiry will be completed, and will almost certainly report that all those who may have taken bribes have been removed from the FIFA executive, and no longer take part in World football, while Issa Hayatou will be privately told that the allegations against him will resurface if he were to bid to take over in 2015.

If you want real cheek, you need to look to Jack Warner, the man too corrupt to keep Blatter's protection

Meanwhile, much of the world does not see the continual barrage of British complaints as investigative journalism, but as bad sportsmanship. They do not understand that neither the government nor the FA could stop the Times printing these allegations, even if they wanted to. There is actually a very good chance now that a fair vote could still return the cup to Qatar!

So next time a stadium dishes out racist abuse during a match I expect FIFA to intervene?

It is always worth reading Bill Archer's blogs. Bill has long had it in for Blatter, and also has the advantage of not being Andrew Jennings. His latest is here
