Everyone expects league leaders to defeat relegation sides.Alf wrote:It's you that expects three points off every team in the bottom half of the league.

Latest table and result for both Gloucestershire clubs. (save RCS posting the old one up with a written report of updates)
A poor weekend for both clubs

Our seven away games against the bottom eight sides have yielded just three wins. We may criticise FGR's record against play off teams but at least they are better at beating the lowly sides than we are.

You can't compare Grimsby with Welling.asl wrote:And yet, we extend our lead playing away from home while FGR were at home.

Disappointing as it is to only take 1 point from a struggling team, the fact that so deep into injury time we still managed to conjur up an equaliser is unbelievable.
Ok so the last few games haven't been enthralling but we are at the business end of the season where many clubs are playing for promotion, play offs or relegation places. There are no easy games.
This group have players have got us into this position and I'm confident they've got the ability to see the job through.
I do wonder if GJ, RM and PJ might be tempted to bring in a loan player just to freshen up the squad, especially with Dayton out for the time being and with the England call ups possibly affecting the Borehamwood game.

Apparently Dayton should be fit for next week. I do agree we need some creativity in midfield, a loan maybe a good move.London Exile wrote:Disappointing as it is to only take 1 point from a struggling team, the fact that so deep into injury time we still managed to conjur up an equaliser is unbelievable.

Agreed. Getting that equaliser was brilliant. We will have more games like this before the season's out.London Exile wrote:Disappointing as it is to only take 1 point from a struggling team, the fact that so deep into injury time we still managed to conjur up an equaliser is unbelievable.

Indeed. Puts the ball firmly in FGR's court for their two tough away trips. At this stage and with our GD a two point lead is much better than a one point lead.Ralph wrote:Yep an away point is always good. Another point closer

Today's result was not good but a points a point and to score in the 95th min after going 1 down in injury time says something, a lot of teams would have give up. I think we have missed Harry Pell in the team, not played that well since his injury so glad to see him on the pitch today.
Diginitely missed Downes influence on the pitch.itsallbollox wrote:Today's result was not good but a points a point and to score in the 95th min after going 1 down in injury time says something, a lot of teams would have give up.
