As management searches for players to strengthen the squad, could any one remind us how many players remain who were signed during Gary’s time as manager and what that tells us. How does this list compare with Michael’s signings who remain?

Add to Duff signings - Azaz signed on loan today from WBA. Clements wasn’t a Johnson signing. He joined after Johnson was sacked but before Duff took over. Think he was described as a “committee” signing. But he has not been announced as re-signing as yet though, but is expected to. Also add George Lloyd to Johnson signings although he came through the ranks.

All good signings really.
Noticeable that whilst the spine of the team and most starters are Johnson’s, by adding May, Reid, Williams, Azaz and Freestone, Duff has upped it another level.
A couple of exciting questions to ponder:
- Is there a better full-back pairing in L2 than Long and Hussey? - Is there a better front three in L2 than Williams, Reid and May?
Back three is strong. Midfield unproven until we see if Azaz fills the missing link. However, prima facie it is a competitive midfield and it will be the full-backs and strikers who make difference between being competitive and being promotion winners.

In some ways, it's a bit like Bielsa at Leeds. Went in and largely kept the same players, added a few to it, but made what he inherited much better. Also failed miserably at home in the second leg of the play-offs at the end of his first full season against a manager who was an ex-Premier League player...so we're champions next season!
